Biography

Grammar and writing have been a special interest of mine for as long as I can remember. I have always loved to read and write, and in doing so, I've learned to love the English language as a whole. Grammatical conventions and flow, in particular, matter to me most in writing. Language in general fascinates me. I earned a BA in English from Haverford College, along with a minor degree in the Russian language through Bryn Mawr college. I am eager to help clients find and fix small details and improve word choice to create a more readable piece.

I live on the East Coast with my partner and our three cats. Along with editing, I enjoy reading, writing, and creating art.

Previous experience, degrees, and qualifications

BA in English from Haverford College. I have two academic years of experience in student writing review, during which time I reviewed roughly 950 pieces of writing for grammar, accuracy, structure, tone, and argument. Prior to that, I've done editing work by commission for friends and family. I am a lifelong lover of improving English writing to be as effective as possible.

Interests and hobbies

I enjoy writing, reading, video games, research, tabletop role playing games, art, petting dogs, and spending time with my cats.

How I'd describe my personality in two sentences

I'm a deeply cerebral, detail-oriented person, and a recovering perfectionist. I enjoy consuming knowledge, creating things, telling stories, and showing compassion however I can.

How I'd describe my approach to my work

I believe small details and errors are just as important as larger ones, and that quality is more important than speed. My goal is for my work to be as thorough and involved as I can reasonably manage. I also pay special attention to punctuation, word choice, and writing flow.
