Biography

Books have been a safe place for me since kindergarten. I have always had a book nearby, which is even more true now that I can have books on my phone! I continuously want to learn new things, explore new places, and understand different kinds of people. Books help me do all of that, and I am thrilled to be able to help writers with their own books that will reach even more bookworms like me.

Previous experience, degrees, and qualifications

In 2019, I became a captioner for the local community college. I created and edited captions for videos to be used in classes with Deaf and Hard of Hearing students. As these captions were for educational purposes, it was more important that they be understandable than an exact match to what was said in the video. Therefore, I did have to use a lot of editing skills.
In 2021, I was asked to be the marketing proofreader for a small local business. This involves editing social media posts, newsletters, and event flyers.
In 2022, I passed a proofreading and editing course, which has allowed to me to become a freelance editor. I have worked on academic, business, and creative projects.

Interests and hobbies

Like most editors, I enjoy reading, which I've been doing since I was a little kid. I mostly read fantasy and sci-fi. I also cross-stitch, play games (video and board games), sing Disney songs, and hang out with my family.

How I'd describe my personality in two sentences

I am typically a quiet and focused person. However, the people who know me also call me goofy, so maybe I'm not as quiet as I think.

How I'd describe my approach to my work

I am dedicated. I don't like to leave things feeling unfinished. I know what I am capable of, and I strive to ensure that I uphold my own high standards.

Why should you choose me for your project

I have the skills to write well, but when I try to create anything longer than a short story, I tend to get off track from my original idea. However, when I am given something that's already written, I can clean it up so that it's an easier and more pleasing read. I've even been able to decipher someone's writing that they conjured up in the middle of the night and couldn't understand the next morning. So if you have something you want to share, let me comb through it first to make sure your audience will be able to properly enjoy it.
