Biography

As a bit of a nerd who lived in Japan for 5.5 years, I've not only picked up the language (N1 JLPT certified), but I've also adapted to a lot of the cultural norms. That's part of the reason I'm so strict about being on time, desire for continual improvement (kaizen), as well as often taking a pause to really think through what I'd like to say before opening my mouth.

My voracious appetite for knowledge has led to me exploring a lot of very different topics, hence the reason I have a Chemistry minor from undergrad but an International Studies major which led to a master's in International Relations. My work as a Japanese interpreter and sales representative for manufacturing companies in the auto industry also wet my appetite for engineering and robotics... And then, I spent a few years making gaming content for YouTube. So, I can dive into most projects without getting overwhelmed, even when it's something I don't have experience with yet. And, after a couple years working with voice coaches and setting up my broadcast quality studio, I'm excited that I'm able to bring other people's projects to life with my voice!

Previous experience, degrees, and qualifications

I have a background in International Relations (a master's from Ritsumeikan University in Kyoto, Japan) and the sciences (I was pre-med with a Chemistry minor in undergrad). I've worked with a number of voiceover coaches and audio technicians including several from Atlanta Voiceover Studio to ensure I deliver excellent quality recordings for each project in which I'm involved.

Interests and hobbies

I love anime, video games, content creation, and generally learning about topics I knew very little about. I also enjoy travel, making excellent coffee, and to my surprise more recently, working out.

How I'd describe my personality in two sentences

I have a thirst for knowledge and learning to see things from new perspectives. But, I also maintain a calm demeanor and tend to be rather strict about the small details.

How I'd describe my approach to my work

I'm methodical. First, I break down my role in a project into stages, then I tackle each step with my full focus and energy. I don't stop until I'm happy with the result.
