Biography
As an avid reader and learner from a young age, I have taken my love of language and applied it to honing my skills as an editor. From my education to my experience to date, I have sought out and successfully completed both in-house and independent projects. In addition to my education and skills, I also bring a diligent attitude, excellent time management, and proactive stance to all projects.
Previous experience, degrees, and qualifications
Having completed my Bachelor of Arts degree in Creative Writing (majoring in English Studies and Theory of Literature) and an Honours degree in Theory of Literature, I believe that my tertiary qualifications have equipped me with valuable skills that guide my editing. In addition to this, I have completed a certification in copy-editing and proofreading. As a part of this certification, I specialized in academic proofreading and substantive copy-editing. I also honed my skills under the guidance of the copy-editing team for a writers college. My experience is further compounded by my time as the Senior Editor at a digital marketing agency, where I oversaw all outgoing pieces of writing ranging from client pitches to blog posts and newsletters.
Interests and hobbies
When I'm not working, I enjoy nothing more than indulging my lifelong love of reading. I also enjoy trying out new recipes in the kitchen and going on long walks.
How I'd describe my personality in two sentences
While I might be reserved and very introverted, I also have a keen sense of adventure and a passion for learning. I'm highly inquisitive, studious, and diligent, but can be witty and, occasionally, bubbly.
How I'd describe my approach to my work
I approach my work with diligence. To me, every project deserves my full attention and I always aim to bring the highest level of quality to anything that crosses my desk. I am also goal-oriented, meaning that the successful completion of a project always takes precedence. I am always looking for ways to learn more and expand my skill set, and to apply this skill set to my work. Finally, collaboration is an aspect of my role as an editor that I find particularly rewarding.
