Editing with an Extra-Human Touch

Biography

I’m a highly experienced editor, copy editor, and proofreader who endeavors to perfect, with complete precision and care, any text that comes my way.

Previous experience, degrees, and qualifications

While I have taken many editing/copy editing/proofreading classes, I've found that the most valuable lessons come from just diving in and working hands-on with real clients. I have been the managing editor for two publications, and the editor for a few others as well as a handful of film books and novels.

Interests and hobbies

Movies are my greatest passion. I watch all genres, but am especially drawn to horror. I'm also a total word nerd, doing most of the NYT word games daily. I also love to bake and have been working to become fluent in Spanish.

How I'd describe my personality in two sentences

I'd say I'm devoted, loyal, and even a little obsessive, a trait I believe is necessary for an editor. I am also very determined (meaning I put my all into everything I do, and I don’t give up easily).

How I'd describe my approach to my work

As someone with experience in many of journalism’s facets beyond editing—writing, copy editing, proofreading, photo editing, and fact checking—the knowledge has only deepened my understanding of the editing process, and it has allowed to better meet tight deadlines, work closely with writers and other necessary collaborators, and to be able to shift gears quickly while remaining organized, focused, and in top communication mode, in an office or remotely.

Why should you choose me for your project

A true professional, I treat each and every project with the same level of extreme attention and care. I am a follow-through person, a perfectionist, someone you can fully rely on.
