Headline
I am an eagle-eyed editor who crafts quality, error-free content and excels at editing across topics and subject areas.
Biography
I am an avid reader, occasional writer, and unabashed daydreamer. When my nose isn't buried in a book or my eyes glued to a TV show, you'll find me whispering sweet nothings to my plants or attempting to draw, paint, or cook something new while enjoying good music. Professionally, I've worked as a writer and editor in research, publishing, advertising, and marketing. I've written and edited several blog posts, video scripts, captions, and long-form articles. More recently, I've delved into the field of academic publishing where I've worked with researchers to edit their manuscripts for language, style, and formatting.
Previous experience, degrees, and qualifications
I have always worked with written content in some form or the other, either writing it myself or editing it for others. I have a bachelor's degree in mass media with a major in journalism, and though I never got into hardcore journalism, my love for the written word stuck around and continued to grow. I then pursued a master's in English Literature, which cemented my love for the language and all its nuances and quirks. Professionally, I've worked as a writer and an editor. As a writer, I've worked in advertising, marketing, and content creation involving research pieces, social media content, brand communications, blogs, video scripts, resource creation, and more. I've always prided myself on accepting every writing opportunity that came my way, which is how I've managed to build a diverse portfolio as a writer. As an editor, I've worked with a team of writers and illustrators to create blogs, videos, brochures, mailers, and more. Recently, I've been working with researchers to edit and prepare their papers for journal and university-level submissions and have edited over 500 manuscripts for language, structure, content, and style.
Interests and hobbies
I am a voracious reader, an occasional writer and artist, and a newbie gardener.
How I'd describe my personality in two sentences
I am equal parts kind and practical. Above all, I strive to be fair and understanding towards any situation.
How I'd describe my approach to my work
When it comes to work, I rely on my practicality and tend to be solution-oriented. I welcome feedback and endeavor to always do my best. I take ownership of every piece I edit because I believe even the smallest piece of text should reflect my abilities and love for the English language and its conventions.
Why should you choose me for your project
I have an excellent command of the English language and continuously learn, adapt, and improve my skills as an editor. I do my best to maintain and enhance the writer's voice and help them put out grammatically correct, well-structured, and easily readable content.
