Biography
I am an editor and English communications consultant who helps clients master written communication by understanding language nuances and tailoring content to audience needs.
I have 6+ years of experience in developmental editing, line editing, copy editing, content writing, and consulting (for business professionals), both as a freelancer and self-employed business owner. I also have experience in project management, international development, and human resources.
I pride myself on providing detailed feedback and explanations, particularly for developmental and line edits. One of my greatest editing strengths is my ability to modify sentence structure and refine language nuances to help manuscripts achieve their objectives. This includes fine-tuning the style, tone, readability, and overall quality of the writing to make sure your manuscript resonates with your target audience.
I also specialize in "humanizing" writing—I have a great eye for sentence patterns and language that sounds "AI-written", and I can provide suggestions to rewrite this in a more natural way.
My approach involves collaborative communication between you, me, and the writer. Of course, I will also ensure your manuscript is free of typographical, grammatical, lexical, spelling, syntax and formatting errors.
I always work efficiently to meet tight deadlines. I'm available 7 days a week, and I work for myself from home. As such, my flexible schedule will allow me to dedicate myself to your project.
Previous experience, degrees, and qualifications
I am an editor and communications consultant with a B.A. from McGill University, as well as a postgraduate certificate in project management from Humber Business School and a Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) certificate.
For the past six years, I have dedicated myself to the English language, helping clients build relationships through spoken and written communication. This encompasses line editing, developmental editing, copy editing, content writing, copywriting, and consultation services for companies and business professionals.
Highlights of my experience include:
• In 2024, I developed 12 courses on public speaking and business communications for a cross-cultural communications training institute.
• For four years, I trained young adults aged 18–35 and female business owners in financial literacy, business skills, and entrepreneurship skills.
• Since 2021, I have been providing 1:1 public speaking & business communications lessons to adult students in my private consulting business.
I also have a background in international development and project management, with over 4 years' experience working with NGOs and government agencies in West Africa and extensive travel experience. I have worked in human resources and hiring, both in Canada and overseas. My diverse professional background enables me to adapt to different client and audience needs; after all, editing is not a one-size-fits-all approach.
Interests and hobbies
When I'm not working on my business, you can find me reading, brushing up on my Spanish and French skills, studying the stock market, or working on my cross-cultural communications book.
I'm also incredibly passionate about fitness, sports, and the outdoors. If I wasn't working in my current field, I'd likely be working within the health and fitness industry.

Those who know me best would agree that I'm a self-driven individual who likes to keep busy. At the same time, I take pride in being a calm, level-headed person.

I'm passionate about editing and communications, thus I always dedicate 100% of my effort and expertise toward projects and assignments.
Above all else, my approach is comprehensive. I always provide detailed suggestions and explanations—it's better to err on the side of giving "too many" as opposed to "too few" (unless otherwise specified!).
There's also incredible value in giving honest, constructive feedback to clients. My goal is to offer different reader perspectives, so even if your book is already polished, we can assess how well it connects with different audiences.
