Biography

I'm an aspiring author with a passion for creative writing. I provide just the fresh perspective and witty voice that you need! I have about a year of experience in copyediting, but a vast history of knowledge through college courses. Each job and college course has taught me to become detail-oriented, adaptable to different formats/ styles, and an overall critical thinker.

Previous experience, degrees, and qualifications

I have a Bachelor's Degree in English Literature with experience in courses such as Advanced Grammar and Composition, Journalism Workshop, Technical & Professional Writing, Discourse Analysis, and Literary Criticism. I've gained more recent experience with freelance editing while working for a small, educational publishing company.

I've been heavily involved in the editing process since college. Between editing for work and creating several term papers in reading/writing-intensive courses, I also ran a blog for a few years and assisted other colleagues with editing tasks.

Interests and hobbies

Reading, first. Writing, second. Beyond that, I'm a huge nerd lol. I love a good trip to the comic book store or a gaming cafe. I happily struggle through the rules of D&D. I like to recreate cuisines from different cultures and (especially) like trying restaurants that make them correctly. I'm also a bit of a city girl, but hiking brings me peace. I find joy in the little things, like spa days and trips to Target.

How I'd describe my personality in two sentences

I'm a bubbly, twentysomething book nerd! When I'm not face down in a novel or online article, I'm probably learning obscure facts (AKA cosplaying as an adult).

How I'd describe my approach to my work

I'm very methodical in my approach. Through collaboration with others, I make sure that I nail down exactly what the publisher is looking for. I ask a ton of questions. I examine the work for syntax and tone to easily adapt myself to each individual piece. Most simply put: I cater to the needs of the client.

Why should you choose me for your project

Before being an editor and an aspiring author, I'm a reader first. I enjoy nearly every genre of literature, whether it's an exciting, action-packed thriller, a biography, or even an article on the importance of climate change. I don't tether myself to just one thing.
