Biography
As an editor, the most apt word to describe my work is versatile. My background prepared me to wear many hats within the publishing realm. I have experience working in editing positions with a newspaper, a major publishing house, magazine, literary agencies, and a business marketing and research firm.
Since turning to freelance work, I've completed hundreds of editing contracts for writers whose backgrounds, abilities, and specialties are as varied as the books they write. I've handled editing projects from development to proofreading for a wide range of fiction and nonfiction genres and subjects, including romance, thriller, epic fantasy, self-help, memoir, inspirational, business guides, horror, contemporary fiction, and educational, just to name a few!
My editing skills are strong when it comes to writing designed to engage readers on a personal level without compromising professionalism or expertise. One of my favorite aspects of editing is bringing a client's vision to life, so whatever your goals may be, I'm here to help you realize them to their fullest potential.
Special topics of interest close to my heart include: Autism Spectrum Disorder/Asperger's, mental health awareness, spiritual guides/meditation, teaching strategies, sociology/sociological theory, music therapy, women's studies, social issues, Blockchain/cryptocurrencies, and innovative technology.
Previous experience, degrees, and qualifications
I have a B.A. in English from a U.S. university with an emphasis on creative and business writing. I have experience working as an editor in the following in-office and remote environments: newspaper, lifestyle magazine, publishing company, literary agency, business education, and freelance book editing. I got my start with Upwork around seven years ago and have since built a long list of clients who keep coming back to me for their editing needs. I've worked with writers of all experience levels, from first-time writers to traditionally published authors.
As a writer, I've self-published a memoir regarding Asperger's Syndrome (Autism Spectrum Disorder) and have contributed to several publications as an activist for awareness of autism in women.

Right now, my main interests and hobbies include the Joseph Campbell Book Club on Myth and Meaning, classical ballet, video games, Dungeons & Dragons, producing electronic music, documentaries, horror movies, alternative drag, Norse and Greek mythology, and writer Yukio Mishima.
How I'd describe my personality in two sentences
I am a socially capable introvert who loves to spend time on hobbies, passion projects, and study. I pay attention to what others say and am easygoing, but if you bring up one of my interests, I may never stop talking!
How I'd describe my approach to my work
I am laid back and friendly, but I also value professionalism in all aspects of my work. This is what I do full-time, and it is very important to me to exceed expectations in every assignment. My skills as an editor include being able to analyze a manuscript from the point of view of someone in your target audience group. My editing and comments are clear and straightforward.
