🏵️Senior Editor | Dibbly Certified Freelancer | Bookworm | Yoga & Pilates Student | Cat Mom🏵️

Biography

I’m a dedicated editor, writer, and blogger who has been an avid reader all my life. My passion for the written word led me to start editing professionally, and I have a talent for polishing writing until it shines, with a keen eye for pesky errors. I love creating a friendly, team-oriented environment whenever I accept an editing order.

As an Endometriosis warrior, I advocate for mental health and chronic invisible disabilities by sharing my experiences through blogging. I am a passionate (but still new) yoga and Pilates practitioner. I’m obsessed with the color orange and true crime documentaries. I’m always eager to learn, regularly taking online certification classes on a variety of topics. I live alone with my five-year-old black cat, Steven. If I’m not at home cuddling him, you can usually find me wandering new-to-me trails around my hometown.

Previous experience, degrees, and qualifications

My editing experience spans fiction, nonfiction, wellness articles, blog posts, and scientific research papers. I’m passionate about continuously learning and often seek out opportunities to advance my knowledge. I hold certificates in copyediting, proofreading, freelance writing, creative writing, and vocabulary building, and I plan to gain more certifications in 2024-2025. I have a Bachelor's degree in Visual Media Communications and two Associate's degrees in Communications and Photography.

On the side, I frequently use Skillshare to brush up on skills such as transcribing, typing, publishing, and social media. I’m also using Duolingo to improve my Spanish, though I’m still far from fluent!

Out-of-Scope Services:
If you're a current customer and interested in additional services, I offer skills that could be useful while working on your manuscript. I have experience in transcription, typing, data entry, and beta reading. While I’m not a formally trained sensitivity reader, I can provide feedback on language and representation if your work includes LGBTQ+ characters. I’m also able to assist with APA 7 formatting for references and citations. Feel free to DM me if you’d like to discuss these services.

Interests and hobbies

I practice yoga and Pilates 5-6 times a week, and I am currently working to obtain my 200 yoga teacher training certification. I’m also a major bookworm who enjoys many genres, but my favorites are horror and fantasy. If I had to choose, my all-time favorite book would be The Hobbit, and my favorite author would be Stephen King. Picking favorites is tough, though, as my book obsession is a bit out of control—there’s always room for more books, even when I’ve run out of shelf space!

I love hiking (or, more accurately, wandering) new-to-me trails in my hometown, capturing photographs of the things I find during my adventures. My favorite color is orange. I crochet for fun; I recently made a cozy rainbow blanket, and I enjoy learning to cook new recipes. My deep interest (and associate's degree!) in psychology has also led me to explore true crime, so I binge-watch documentaries and YouTube channels and listen to various podcasts. I’m also a writer and am excited to publish my Fantasy/Adventure novel soon!

How I'd describe my personality in two sentences

I would describe my personality as bubbly, empathetic, and driven. I work hard, care deeply about others, and find joy in putting smiles on people’s faces.:)

How I'd describe my approach to my work

I aim not only to correct obvious errors but also to preserve the essence of what’s written. My goal is not to change important tone and detail but to enhance the incredible work you and the writer you’ve selected have achieved. I am detail-oriented, communicative, and friendly. As a dedicated professional, I strive to ensure that every customer I work with leaves satisfied with their manuscript.

Why should you choose me for your project

When you choose to work with me, your project becomes my project. I strive to amplify your message by thoroughly editing and proofreading your work until it’s complete. The message you’re putting out into the world is important, and I want to help ensure it makes the desired impact without any distractions, such as misspelled words or incorrect punctuation.
