Margot Wilde

Biography

Hello! My name is Margot and I am an editor and writer. I've worked in the literary field for a few years now, and have edited works that span a variety of genres as well as forms, from nonfiction, to science fiction, to screenplays. In my free time I like to (surprise surprise) read and write, as well. I look forward to working with you and helping you bring your art to it's next level.

Previous experience, degrees, and qualifications

I have a degree from the New School in Playwriting and recently worked as a Literary Assistant for Here We Go Theatrical Productions while also working as a freelance editor throughout my years at university.

Interests and hobbies

Reading, writing, hiking, and making fun coffee beverages:)

How I'd describe my personality in two sentences

My personality is something similar to if Jesse Eisenberg's portrayal of Mark Zuckerberg had empathy. Quirky, witty, and extremely loyal to my work.

How I'd describe my approach to my work

I approach my work immediately from two separate angles. I first approach the piece as a reader, putting myself in the the shoes of the intended audience. I get to the bottom of what this piece is saying, what questions it provokes as well as answers, what I am meant to take away from it. I then let that advice my next interaction with the work: the editing process. By putting myself in the position of the intended audience, I am able to make informed suggestions and edits to the piece that support it and make it more effective in order to prepare it for publication.

Why should you choose me for your project

I go above and beyond for every project that I take on. My eye is thorough and thoughtful. Having read over fifty books this year alone, I am no stranger to the eb and flow of good writing and I know how to make that painstaking work you've already put in feel natural. You're prized work will be in good hands with me.
