Biography
Hello! I am Mellow:), editor for The Urban Writers (TUW) and all the writers, in general:). I have writing and editing experience of five years. I have written several papers, blogs, and articles for authorized journals and websites. It adds to my editing skills and knowledge. I love reading books, watching horror and comedy movies/series, evening walks, contemplating my life:P, food, and lots of laughter:). I had law as an educational background; science is my high school love; fitness and health are my daily priority; friends and family are my ultimate goal! I am here to add that final magic to your work! Please feel free to connect and reach up to me.
Some areas/niches which go well with my expertise and skills are:
1. Business and Money: I hold a post-grad degree in Business law. I have written several papers and articles on the same. (Investment, contract, company, IPR, finance, etc.)
2. Crime. Horror, and Entertainment: I hold a diploma and certificate in Criminology and Forensic Sciences. I have watched all the horror genres. TV series like 'Mindhunter'--movies like 'Conjuring' & 'The others' are my favorite. (Comedy, Romantic thrillers, crime thrillers, etc.)
3. Kids and Teens: I have tons of kid's story books. I was a curious reader myself in my childhood. Mythology and animal stories are my favorite genre. ('Panchtantra' and 'Minions' are my favorite, 'Reader Digests' puzzle books are precious to me).
4. Science and Technology: I hold a specialization in Intellectual Property Rights which gave me exposure to technology and inventions. It adds to my knowledge and skills to comprehend the niche.
5. Health & Fitness: I am not a gym freak:), but I have managed to maintain the weight of 123.2 Pounds on my 173.6 cm of height:P. I prefer healthy eating. daily walks, and home chores. (PS: not bragging:D)
6. Others: In addition, I have edited several self-help books and articles. I proudly believe in God, Spirituality, and family on top of it all.:) (A crazy belief in love stories, destinies, emotional intimacies, and relationships)

Previous experience, degrees, and qualifications
I was a sincere kid, so I opted for Science (Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics) as my core subject in high school. I have good knowledge when it comes to preparing a good scientific read. Then I realized I am sincere but not that technical, so I opted "Law" as my graduation subject, I hold an integrated degree (Bachelors of Arts plus Bachelors of Law). My specialization was (is) in Intellectual Property Rights. I hold a post-graduate (Masters) degree in Business Law.
I have several publications in my name (around 7 or 8), they are mostly articles and papers on varied topics relating to law, economy, COVID, and traditional knowledge, among others. From there I learned how to articulate and express my words in a more concise way (since a person seeking the door of the court and reaching out to public authorities got no time to dwell into the history of, say, "criminal law").
I also hold a post-graduate diploma in Criminology and a certificate in Forensic Sciences study. from there I developed a deep interest in psychology, mystery/thrillers, intense analysis of a person's mind, and similar areas. Since it is law, I would rather not go into details regarding my pointers. <3:P But yes books were my life and are my life! Now, that we are more tech-savvy I will say mass media has caught my curiosity these days as well.
Interests and hobbies
Romantic books and movies are my favorite go-to pastime when they carry that much-needed passion, the beauty of life, and happiness.
Horror movies were always my love. I have searched and watched almost all, and I am still seeking more suggestions from people on good horror movies, some of my cherished ones are The Shining, The others, Conjuring, Anabelle, etc.
I am an extroverted introvert--Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hotstar, etc are my buddies in the hood. I also find sheer delight in watching animated series and movies (especially ones focused on humor with a tinge of a message, but mostly humor).
I love reading, I am reading since I was in 4th standard (Yes, you read correctly!), I love mythological books, self-help books, story books, and academic books. One of my hobbies is making friends from different social and academic constructs--friends with different ideologies and ways of life.:)
Surprisingly, I also love watching dc and marvel movies, I loved Thor, Captain America, Iron Man, Guardian of the Galaxy, The dark knight, Avengers!, and others. I have also watched star wars, and I am a fan of Yoda, Princess Leia, Obi-van Kenobi, and Chewbacca. <3
My other hobbies include walking, cleaning, and chit-chatting with my selective buddies and going for quick meetups with my loved ones.
How I'd describe my personality in two sentences
I am a "Mellow" Rose <3
I am a daydreamer, an extroverted nerd, full of love, full of humor, and full of mysteries.:) Looking for a good reader--for the book that is "my personality." <3
How I'd describe my approach to my work
I am a curious soul, so my first approach while requesting/accepting any work is--always stay openminded and "don't undermine any niche/theme." If any customer reaches up to me with their dream project, I will always consider it and give my best.
I believe if a work has reached editing phase, it has come after the writer has given their precious time, thoughts, and research, I always try not to alter viewpoint of the writer and the client. I am open to variety of sentence structures with a tinge of articulated language. However, since I have worked on academic mansucritps myself, I give importance to the essence of a more poise work equally.

**Since this is my 2nd time on using the Urban Writer's website..... NGL on this one, I kinda don't hold a strong judgement especially on editors compared to like an actual writer(ghostwriter) and I'm willing to learn more form you guys so I could maybe learn how to judge better (as a master artist/author) and more fair next time for my next encounters. But hey, compared to my 1st editor, you're the faster one. Good plus points on that. Punctuality is smooth and communication is immediate, that's what I like! 4.5/5

Mellow was great to work with. She kept good lines of communication open. This is my fist time using the editing process. My only feedback about that is that I would like to get a better sense of the changes to the document she received vs the final document I receive. This would help me get a better sense of the original writer. The ideal would be to see all the changes with strikeouts and changes between the original and final text. Even if there was a way to give summary data, that would even be ok.

Mellow was included in the formatters that are skilled enough to work in business and money and she was good to work with in the beginning. Some of the communication breakdown may have been my ignorance but I do not know because she pretty much stopped addressing my issues while communicating. She took liberties in changing my book such as adding chapters and rewriting my table of contents. I pointed out to her I needed it changed back as my book was written that way intentionally. She had me use my only revision to put my book back to my original despite my communicating my concerns repeatedly. Once my book was back to how I had it written there were problems with it, such as, the sub headings being at the bottom of pages without any content. Her attitude came across as well we are done, thanks for working with me. A supervisor did get involved, found and fixed the errors and the experience went splendid from there. I am disappointed that Mellow knew I was concerned about using my revision to return my book to my original. She was content to be done and send me on my way with a poorly formatted paperback. No, "let me know if there is anything else I can do" or "I am sorry I didn't catch those errors, let me work with my supervisor to see what can be done." She was done. In fairness there were issues on my end with software that could have contributed to my frustration but we will never know because she was not willing to address the issues with me. I hope this feedback will help her to better understand how important it is to communicate with her clients so she can offer the outstanding service I am sure she wants to provide. I do not think she should be working on books in the most expensive tier. This was a basic paperback formatting job, nothing fancy was expected of her.

Overall editing was good. I did need to re-edit a number of punctuation and quotation marks areas. I understand some things can be missed, but found corrections were not consistent.
