Biography

Hi! I'm Caroline! I am a homeschooling mom with three kids (including a busy one-year old!) who loves all things writing and grammar. I have a lot of experience in the editing/proofreading realm, as I've worked as a teacher, administrative assistant, subject specialist, and online editor. I live in a rural area with 2 dogs and 5 cats and love sitting in my front yard listening to the birds singing and looking out at the prairie. I enjoy baking with sourdough, camping, fishing, cross-stitching, good conversations, and board games.

Previous experience, degrees, and qualifications

I am a former teacher with a Bachelor of Education and Bachelor of Music. I have a keen eye for proper grammar, spelling, sentence structure, and readability in writing. I have also worked as an administrative assistant and online subject specialist; both of these roles required me to proofread and edit others' work. Alongside my role here at Dibbly/The Urban Writers, I also work as head editor for an educational curriculum company.

Interests and hobbies

I taught band for many years, so I am a big music nerd. I relax by playing the piano and clarinet. My family enjoys camping and fishing, so we look forward to summer every year! I also enjoy getting lost in a good book, cross-stitching, and playing board games.

I'm a type-A perfectionist who uses my personality traits to complete my work to a high standard. I'm also very organized and love checking things off lists.

How I'd describe my approach to my work

I take my role seriously and am diligent in my work. My overall goal is for the customer to be completely satisfied with their finished manuscript. I like to communicate frequently throughout the editing process to ensure that the customer has all of their questions answered and understands the process. I am self-motivated, responsible, and manage my time well. I aim to get my work done ahead of the deadline so there is leeway should any issues arise. Overall, I really enjoy editing, so it is something that I look forward to doing each day!
