Biography
Hi! I'd like to tell you a little about myself. I love editing, of course, and was named as the October 2021 TUW Editor of the Month! In July 2022, I moved up to Senior Editor. I am available for nearly every niche here at TUW. I previously was the editor for a fiction author. I edited all of his novels.
I have a degree in Elementary Education and a double minor in English and Psychology. I have tutored all ages, from preschool to adult. Professors often asked me to tutor high school and college students on semicolons and preventing comma splices. I have worked for county governments proofing their memos and minutes, and written for various newspapers.
I love all kinds of books and editing them, ranging from cryptocurrencies to self-help, and much more. The outdoors is my peaceful sanctuary--where I go for inspiration. I love people, animals, and college football; but, most importantly, I love my job! Working with writers and customers to produce a book for others to learn from, or be entertained by, is an amazing process, and I take it very seriously, communicating with those involved throughout the process. Previous experience, degrees, and qualifications
I have a BA in Elementary Education. I have taught kids and tutored adults. Before joining TUW, I edited a three-novel crime fiction series. I ran an after school program prior to that. I am often asked to edit documents for local county leaders. Serving on various committees has given me an opportunity to work with different individuals and take on numerous challenges. I now spend most of my time editing, as it is my passion.
Interests and hobbies
I have always had a talent for words, grammar, and editing. I have so many interests that it's hard to name just a few. From being around groups of outgoing people to spending some quiet time outdoors with nature, I am always amazed at the beauty in and wonders of the world we live in. Animals are very important to me, as well as time with friends and family; however, I'm also quite content to curl up on the couch with my laptop and a book to edit. I also like to work logic puzzles and listen to music of all types. I like to choose the out-of-the-norm subjects to study because I'm naturally curios and fascinated with things that aren't openly discussed.
How I'd describe my personality in two sentences
I have experienced more than my fair share of challenges in life, but I remain a true optimist. I am happy, appreciative, and confidant.
How I'd describe my approach to my work
I pay close attention to details and am extremely thorough in my work. It is very important to me that you—our customer—get your dream results, so I do everything in my power to make sure that happens. I always want people to be happy, and don't like conflict or drama; however, I am always ready to stand my ground, when necessary. I am very confident in my abilities, but I will be the first to admit my mistakes if and when they happen. None of us are perfect, though I strive very hard to be in my editing. If a writer and I disagree on an issue, I will immediately research to find the correct answer, because that's what you—our customer—deserve. I am very flexible, open-minded, and don't get offended easily. I believe we are constantly learning and absorbing knowledge every day.

My utmost goal is that you get the results that match your vision, and my objective is always to produce the best book possible. We all work together as a team: writers, editors, customers, illustrators, etc. We have the same goal, which is to achieve a masterpiece that will transport the readers to a different place or transform their lives. Honesty is so very important to me, so you will be guaranteed that always. I am hard-working and friendly. Tracy provides expert feedback in improving the grammar and written structure of a text or manuscript. I was impressed with Tracy's qualifications when I selected her and she made me feel that she was a real stickler and she made it clear she wanted me to be happy with the end product. My one complaint is after she completed the proofreading and editing, I had many, many corrections. I estimate it was somewhere between 20 and 50. She agreed with every one of them, except 1, but I thought she should have caught them and not me. I'm just a layman, who wrote a few newspaper articles many years ago and I don't consider myself a professional writer or editor by any stretch of the imagination.

Before our manuscript went to the Editor, I had read it in pieces several times. After releasing it to the Editor, I thought it was ready. I read it from cover to cover; however, we are not Editors. Tracy found little things or wordsmithing that made a sentence better, clearer, and more understandable. She did an excellent job. She also shared that she just went through what our book is about, and it helped her to feel better about what happened. Communicating with people was one of the motivations why we tackled this retirement project, and Tracy helped to make it shine. Fantastic job:)
