Please send me your manuscripts! Otherwise, I will be compelled to compulsively copy edit shop signs, restaurant menus, and badly-written fan fiction. I look forward to working with you to make your writing shine.

Previous experience, degrees, and qualifications

While my childhood dream was to become a lion tamer, eventually I grew up and decided that fending off typos might be safer than dealing with large carnivores. Instead, I became an editor and a writer, with more than twenty-five published short stories to my name. I have a BA in Creative Writing, and a Certificate in Editing from SFU.

I have worked in IT for a Fortune 500 company so I'm familiar with the business world, and in a biological research lab, and for a map publisher. Outside of Dibbly | TUW, I've edited a range of publications, including a series of self-help guides for seniors, novels, short story anthologies, and a war memoir, as well as press releases, dissertations and student essays. I've worked as a proofreader and copy editor on a variety of fiction genres, including romances, cozy mysteries, horror, science fiction, and erotica.

Interests and hobbies

Of course, I wouldn’t be in this business if I didn’t love to read, but I also like to hike in the hills near my home, and organize meetups for local writers. I have an extensive organic vegetable garden that supplies most of my vegetables, and a large herb garden (medicinal and culinary) as well as fruit and nut trees. I'm always trying to grow rare and unusual edible plants, especially the ones that aren't appropriate for my climate! Over the years, I've tried out everything from permaculture to vermiculture. I've hatched and raised backyard chickens, preserved home-grown food in a variety of ways, made my own soap and cleaning products, and saved seed to try and breed my own varieties of flowers and vegetables.

I have always had an interest in preparing for disasters, and unfortunately have had to put those skills to the test in a real-life situation. I'm keen on history too, especially the Victorian era, and have taken a number of history courses as electives for two degrees.

I like to explore new places, and have visited four out of seven continents. The best thing I've ever done on vacation was learning to drive a dog sled. The worst? Maybe that incident with the kangaroo...

I am perpetually curious and I believe in lifelong learning. I’m also known for my quirky sense of humor.

My focus is on making sure that your book is looking its best when you publish it. I am detail-oriented and value clear communication with my clients during the editing process.

Mauscript was edited quickly and communication time was good. Quality of work was very underwhelming and didn't look like a whole was actually edited in the end, maybe a few sentences every chapter and some minor grammar, but no real recommendations or valuable insights I would expect form an editor who has done this for a long time.
