Biography
"Writing is perhaps the greatest of human inventions, binding together people who never knew each other, citizens of distant epochs. Books break the shackles of time. A book is proof that humans are capable of working magic."
― Carl Sagan, Cosmos
I believe if a book is proof of magic, words are its arcana. Words are how we translate that magic, how we share it, how we keep it alive. Hello! My name is Amelie, and those close to me often joke I've been a writer for far longer than I've been able to hold a pen. As a child, I would dictate stories to my parents, which they hung onto so I could keep returning to them as I grew. In middle school, I painstakingly hand-wrote my first novel in a pink and black zebra striped notebook. I've written long form fanfiction at the same time as I've been compiling books of poetry. In high school, I negotiated a creative science assignment in which I told the beginnings of the galaxy from the point of view of the sun. My writing career has blossomed since these first experiences, but I still believe all words hold that magic., and I want to bring yours to life. To tell you a bit about myself: I am a poet whose heart beats equally for prose. Stories have been my lifeblood for as long as I can remember. Memoirs and novels, biographies and short stories, hybrid works that harness the best parts of all genres―for every word I consume, I try to exhale two more. I'm a hopeless romantic, a lover of light, and I put my heart into everything I do.
I consider myself a dreamer. It's what makes me passionate about my own work, and it's what enthralls me to bring your stories to life. I want the opportunity to be your vessel, to bring your ideas to life, to breathe tangible magic into them. While I specialize in flowery, poetic wordsmanship, I assure you that I have the experience and skill to tackle any kind of prose writing. Whatever your project entails, I promise to work alongside you to bring your ideas to life. I've spent the last four years obtaining my BA in Creative Writing, and I want nothing more to use that experience to help you cultivate your work, to co-create something that outlasts. I also spent four years working as an editor on a nationally recognized undergraduate magazine, so I have experience in all sides of the publication process. In my professional career, I've published over thirty pieces of varying work; in my ghostwriting career, I hope to surpass that number hand in hand with your guidance and trust.
As Carl Sagan says, books break the shackles of time. The words they're built from do, too. From me, you'll get consistent communication, a fast turnaround time, patience, kindness, understanding, and a genuine desire to help you bring your work to life! I have expertise in memoir, short stories, biography, self-help, inspiration, novel-writing, flash fiction, and in the intersections that weave between.
In both fiction and nonfiction, I can write fluently in the genres of romance, dystopian, memoir, erotica, retellings, fantasy, science fiction, young adult, self-help, relationship, paranormal, thriller, contemporary, literary, and mystery. I want to be your ghost, to haunt in the background until your projects can breathe new life―and I promise you, together, we can make magic!

Excerpt from my novel, We Do Not Own Pigeons
The drive from Greenwich to Fryeburg was an even 5 hours and 15 minutes, something Nell could easily shoulder by herself, but Bernie insisted on driving her instead. He made reservations in the neighboring North Conway with his wife later on that weekend, something he swore up and down was just to take in the mountains and scenery, but Nell suspected he wanted to stick around for a few days after she moved in with Margo to make sure that nothing exploded between them. “It’s different now,” Nell reassured him—and herself—as they neared the Maine border. “I know it might just be for the s...
Syncope & Collapse
This summer, I dreamt about alien abduction the night before I had my MRI. It was a last-ditch attempt to figure out what was wrong this time in my mess of a body before I left to study abroad. I was strapped down to the whirring, screaming, white circle and told to keep still as it thundered around me. Selfishly, terribly, I wished for a tumor blooming across some part of my brain—at least this would be a valid explanation for why my eyes start to flutter as my consciousness fades out. The first time this happens again, I’m in my boyfriend’s kitchen and I plummet towards the linoleum. The ...
Where We Overlap
M. and I are on my bedroom floor in the spring of 2020. We’re both wrapped up in blankets. They’ve been telling me about how clearheaded they feel now, how when they have a PTSD episode, or an anxiety attack, or a depressive state, they can identify exactly why they feel the way they do. I know how uneven and rocky the road ahead might look like, but I decide to stay right there in the moment with them, to believe in every word they’re saying. They ask to give me a tarot card reading, which I immediately agree to. I have the picture of the five-card pull still, but I can’t remember what...
