Biography
Hi, I am Sophia. I am a coffee-fuelled workaholic and a perfectionist. Typically, a combo of these two is not considered ideal but I think this is good when it comes to writing. I see writing as a medium of expression (I am an introvert...). Writing is a way to express my thoughts and showcase my creativity.
I have a master's degree in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology. As complex as these subjects may seem, I have a knack for explaining them with ease. I am a sucker for new research and discoveries. It gives me great pleasure to find that scientific advancement is forging new solutions to human problems (both old and new).
Niches that I love writing about include Science and Technology, Health and Fitness, Parenting Guides, Study Guides, and How-Tos. I prefer citing evidence when writing about these topics because validation is the best practice in an age of misinformation. I firmly believe non-fiction writing is not about amalgamating complicated concepts but about explaining them to neophytes.
Being a science enthusiast, I am into sci-fi books and movies. I like exploring new places, music, and tastes. Little Women is my favorite book so far. Its message regarding personal growth resonates with me the most.
Previous experience, degrees, and qualifications
I have an MS degree in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology. This degree, when combined with my passion for writing, helped me orient my skills toward Research Writing. Over the past few years, I have ghostwritten several books in the Medical Research, Health & Fitness, Dieting, Parenting, Religion, and Self-help niches.
Interests and hobbies
Reading, writing, coin collection, and binge-watching Netflix seasons are my life-saving hobbies. Since I am a science geek, I follow scientific research, news, and newsletters. Coin collection is a hobby that has been passed on to me by my grandfather. I think these two hobbies are my way of connecting to the past and to the future. I also love binging on Netflix.
