Headline

Avid writer, researcher, and literary nerd with years of experience in public library systems.

Biography

Ana is a tenacious creative nonfiction writer, and especially loves covering topics in philosophy, history, politics, international stories, and current events. With an Associate's degree in psychology, she has written several blogs and articles for NGOs and non-profits, and is deeply passionate about amplifying stories from around the world. Her drive to create people-based content makes her an excellent choice for both fiction and creative nonfiction work, and she always strives to incorporate poignantly human elements in her writing.

In her spare time, Ana loves baking, horticulture, reading, and studying linguistics. She is fluent in French, and has five beloved plant children, Joe, Ed, Stu, Phil, and Jack. Her favorite literature includes James Joyce’s Dubliners, and William Penn’s Some Fruits of Solitude and More Fruits of Solitude. She is also a huge Lord of the Rings nerd, and rereads the entire series annually (Silmarillion and The Lays of Beleriand included).

Previous experience, degrees, and qualifications

I have an associate's degree in psychology, and I'm currently majoring in linguistics. I have experience in professional horticulture, home organizing, and brand content/blog writing. Thinking on my feet is my strong suit, and I love collaborating with customers!

Interests and hobbies

My perfect afternoon includes a cup of coffee, my favorite arm chair, and a good book. My reading list is about a mile long, and I always keep an eye out for antique or quirky books. Hiking is another one of my hobbies, and I like to get out in nature as much as I can.

How I'd describe my personality in two sentences

I am introverted, curious, and passionate about what I do. Storytelling is at the core of my character, and I strive to listen to everybody's stories with the same attentiveness and care.

How I'd describe my approach to my work

Before I begin writing, I like to take two or three days to thoroughly research what I'm writing about. Once I feel that I have a deep understanding of the subject, I go through the manuscript and add details, anecdotes, and additional context to each body chapter. I love collaborating with customers on content, style, and structure, and I like to periodically check in throughout the writing process.

Why should you choose me for your project

Through my thorough research at the beginning of the writing process, I'm able to deliver accurate and engaging information in a timely manner. I typically respond to messages and feedback within a couple of hours, and getting feedback from customers is my favorite aspect of ghostwriting. I'm here to help your book reach its greatest potential!

Continued Kurdish Oppression in Turkey

Since Turkey’s founding, Kurdish culture, language and identity expression have undergone staunch repression, with tensions rising substantially in the last forty years. In an interview with The Borgen Project, retired U.S. diplomat Fred Lundahl stated, “What the Kurds have had to deal with in order to get anything done, to get any sense of respect, has always been hard.” Lundahl spent 30 years in embassies around the world for the State Department. The Turkish government bears a history of oppression against the Kurdish culture, even cracking down on names that Kurdish families give the...

“Diriliş: Ertuğrul”: How a Soap Opera Shaped the Course of Turkish Politics

“Diriliş: Ertuğrul” and the Revolution of Neo-Ottoman Television In the midst of this increasingly turbulent political and social landscape lies a seemingly harmless stream of media content: soap operas. Turkish soap operas are a source of Turkey’s pride, with shows like the 2006 “Binbir Gece” (or “1001 Nights,” in English) dominating Turkish airtime. These shows often cover themes like family, honor and compassion, called Dizi in Turkish. In 2011, an Ottoman-period show called “Magnificent Century” aired, and almost immediately gained a viewership of one-third of Turkey’s audience. T...

Ana is very easy to work with and always kept me in the loop and has written 2 books for me now. She always takes my outline and turns it into something amazing that I didn't even see in the outline. Thank you!

Ana was fantastic to work with. She is very friendly, professional and eager to help and assist anyway she can. She has great ideas and writes very well. She really works hard to know what direction I want to go with the book and makes sure the feel and flow is what I am was intending. She is always open to more changes or edits if that is what is required. She was a pleasure to work with and I would gladly use her again.
