Biography

Some days I wonder what really got me into writing, then look at the books that I've read and the books that I want to read and the answer is right there.

Hello! I am Amaya Hill. Reading is what got me to pick up writing. The first piece of my work that I can really think of is the essay on 'Importance of Education' that I'd written for a competition back in 7th grade. I hadn't expected to clear the school level of the competition and qualify for the city level, but surprising everyone, even my English teacher back then, I did. (Not being to attend the city-level competition due to health issues is still a big regret!)

As expected, in my free time, you'd either find me reading or writing (for fun) or learning Korean (a language that is way harder than it seems! Started in 2019 and I can only make up simple sentences, though I've learned more about the culture as I study!) or studying Law.

I studied Science in college and majored in Mathematics, though I also learned English Literature alongside my sister!

My works are mostly in fiction (oh the endless possibilities of weaving stories...) but I've also worked with non-fiction in the past.

If you need a reliable and flexible writer who is willing to work hard to bring life to your imagination, or to voice out your thoughts, please do look for me!

Our town is not small by any means, yet almost everyone knows me around here. I don't have to look for Heather, my best friend, as she is sitting in our usual booth, facing away from me. She jumps when I thump her seat from the back and turning around, I'm met with her eyes, narrowed into slits, glaring at me. "Not funny Em" Ignoring her words, I focus on her nose. Which is as red as a tomato, a tell-tale sign...
