Biography

My name is Ivo Regan, and if you're reading this, I am most likely the writer for you!

I've always been fascinated with books, language and reading, and I consider it a privilege that I've managed to make a career out of writing. I was born in Ireland and have a history degree from Trinity College Dublin, so I pride myself on my thoroughness and my research skills.

In addition to history, I've engrossed myself in spirituality and self-help genres over the years. I'm convinced that the human mind has all the tools it needs to find peace and happiness in today's fast-paced, superficial world. In my free time, I can be found outdoors being a scout leader, or reading about politics and current affairs.

I am methodical, prompt, and creative in my approach to writing. If those are the qualities you're looking for, I hope you'll consider bringing me on board.

Exercise and Happiness

Ancient thinkers had quite a lot of wisdom at their disposal that is still applicable in the modern world, if not more so. In the words of Socrates: “No man has the right to be an amateur in the matter of physical training. It is a shame for a man to grow old without seeing the beauty and strength of which his body is capable.” This viewpoint prevailed in the ancient Greek world of which Socrates was a part, and indeed, a great part of the Greeks’ artistic output was dedicated to portraying the ideal human body. By now, we have learned to refrain from using shame as a means of moti...

Use Small Increments for Self-Improvement

We live in a time of instant gratification. Fully prepared meals can be sent to your doorstep at the touch of a button, your favourite movies and TV shows can be accessed directly from the comfort of your own home, and every piece of information that you could possibly want is at your fingertips. Technology has streamlined life, and we have been conditioned to expect the things that we want quickly and easily. Therefore, when we do things that require more effort such as meaningful self-improvement, acquiring new skills, or building good habits, we become quickly discouraged. We expect to...

The Ego Loves Quid Pro Quo

One of the most fundamental principles of this world is exchange. In order to do, get or achieve anything, one must exchange something else. In order to feed themselves, our earliest ancestors exchanged their effort and energy in hunting and farming. To acquire energy, one must exchange their time, and sleep. To bring new life into this world, one must suffer. Even as life became more complicated, the principle of exchange has remained. Now, we exchange money for goods and services. When we love each other and marry, we enter into contracts. The modern world revolves around bargaining, de...

What is a Conspiracy Theory?

Many would argue that the term “conspiracy theory” has taken on negative connotations over the years. Before the advent of the internet, conspiracy theorists were few and isolated from one another. Not only has the internet created more conspiracy theorists than ever before due to the mass availability of information, it has also allowed theorists from every corner of the world to congregate, share ideas and build communities. The rules of the game have changed, and so we must ask ourselves what the term “conspiracy theory” means in the modern age. The first and most fundamental hallmark ...
