Strategic Writing Partner and Grammar Enthusiast

Biography

I learned from years as a vocal performer that communicating in a particular rhythm and style can make people laugh, cry, and feel.

In my experiences as a freelance writer, dog mom, PC gamer, and performer, I've learned how to multi-task and wear many hats. These facets of my persona have cascaded into understanding different tones of voice and perspectives.

The rapt enthusiasm I bring to every writing project makes me the team member you can't wait to work with. My exemplary skills and intrinsic professionalism allow me to be the strategic partner you need.

Let's collaborate!

Previous experience, degrees, and qualifications

• Bachelor of Arts – Communication Studies & Theatre Arts/English • UNT

• Business Writing and Editing for Professionals | Proofreading and Grammar • FRED PRYOR

Interests and hobbies

I am a grammar enthusiast, dog mom, and PC gamer – not in that order. I love musical theatre, dogs, cookies, and wine. Did I also mention I love dogs?

How I'd describe my personality in two sentences

I am fiercely loyal, committed to integrity, and drawn to creativity.
I love to laugh.

How I'd describe my approach to my work

I start with a focus on research. I need to thoroughly understand the subject matter so that my thoughts can flow freely when I write. I write in sections, then build in time to ruminate on it, come back, and edit. I read with a fresh perspective, then continue to edit and restructure as many times as necessary to achieve an optimal final draft.

Why should you choose me for your project

I am dedicated to helping you create a compelling and effective literary work. Together, we will achieve your vision while adhering to deadlines and standards of excellence for the project's successful completion.

New Toys and a New Perspective

Shannon’s father loved to lavish her with expensive items, but her mother had married again—and very well—so there were extra funds for better snacks, nicer school supplies, and many more toys and gifts on special occasions. I was devastated. My parents were still together. On one particular birthday, Shannon got a tape recorder and a beanbag chair. Oh, but it wasn’t just any tape recorder. It was a Panasonic Take ‘n Tape™ Cassette Recorder. It was the ‘70s, and bright colors were all the rage, so this item did not disappoint. It was available in the glossiest, boldest red, blue, and ...

Can I Give My Dog Zyrtec?

With proper dosage, Zyrtec® can be a safe medication for your dog’s allergies. The active ingredient is cetirizine, an antihistamine that dogs have been known to tolerate well. Vets often recommend this over-the-counter medication, as it doesn’t usually have the same drowsiness effects as Benadryl® or other medications with similar ingredients. Although it isn’t yet FDA-approved for animals, veterinarians advise that Zyrtec can be very effective against runny noses, itchy eyes and skin, and sneezing. According to VCA Animal Hospitals, “This medication will take effect quickly, in about 1...

Grammar Tips for Professional Writers: The Apostrophe

The Apostrophe is a frightfully misused piece of punctuation. It’s frequently used incorrectly or neglected altogether. However, the apostrophe doesn’t have to be a mystery or a source of frustration. Here are a few scenarios where this little guy can really help convey the intended message. Apostrophes with Singular and Plural Nouns When one noun becomes two or more, all you need is an “s” (or “es” in certain cases.) This is basically it! When you are talking about MORE THAN ONE person, place, or thing, there is no need to add an apostrophe. In most cases, you are just adding an “s.” I...

Can BOTOX® Cure Depression?

In addition to the positive feelings that can accompany having smoother skin and reduced signs of aging, more and more research is being done to expand the uses of BOTOX in the medical industry, including psychological well-being. It may surprise you to learn that botulinum toxin, the neurotoxin used for making skin wrinkles disappear, is also associated with treating depression, anxiety, and borderline personality disorder (BPD). In a study conducted through UC San Diego Pharmaceutical Sciences in collaboration with researchers and physicians from around the world, there were reported ...

Biography of Marie Antoinette | The Life and Death of the Last Queen of France

In a bevy of powdered hair and rouged cheeks, Marie Antoinette spent time in Versailles playing with her many dogs and giggling with her companions (as teenage girls are wont to do). Her mother found out about her antics at court—fostering a spectacle, laughing and jeering at other courtiers with her friends—and admonished her. Maria Theresa was known to constantly harangue the Dauphine in her letters for not wanting to wear corsets, not ingratiating herself enough to her benefactors, and especially for not being pregnant. She even hinted that Marie Antoinette should seduce King Louis XV, a...
