Biography

Hello! My name is Shawn Jericho, and my lifelong passion for writing has led me here to The Urban Writers. I have written numerous articles and research papers throughout the years, and am thrilled to help prospective authors bring their visions to life.

As a History major and an English minor at the University of Idaho, I had the privilege of participating in extensive research and writing that covered a multitude of subjects. My mother is a high school English teacher who instilled a deep love of writing and the English language into me from a young age. From my first grade class field trip book "We Go to the Zoo" all the way up to my senior thesis, that love has never diminished.

My strengths include non fiction, research, and meeting tight deadlines, as I have been working on tight schedules for many years. I have written articles and papers covering sports, politics, and history in the past, allowing me to develop a versatile and adaptable writing style that can be applied to almost any genre. I truly love writing, and am always looking to sink my teeth into the next project!

My NONFICTION genres include:

-History
-Religion and Spirituality
-Self-Help
-Biographies and Memoirs
-Law
-Sports
-Health and Fitness
-Pets
-Politics

Television and Politics: How Television Forever Changed our Elections

Gerald Ford, the flag bearer of the devastated Republican party, did his best to focus on the achievements of his party. In his ad “Peace”, Ford’s campaign looked to utilize the time honored tradition of the jingle. The ad opened with a montage of happy Americans shopping, going to work, and participating in other everyday tasks, set to a catchy song about America returning to normalcy in a time of peace after the Vietnam war. A narrator takes over about half way through the one minute ad, touting Ford as the dependable man who can continue the time of prosperity. While there was nothing eg...

The Search for the Next Face of an Era

WWE’s history has been more or less divided neatly into eras. Whether it be the Golden Age led by Hulk Hogan and Hulkamania, the Attitude Era led by the Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin, or the PG Era led by John Cena, one or two top stars have led the charge into a new generation. However, four years into what has been deemed the New Era, a star has yet to emerge. The company attempted to groom Roman Reigns to fill the void. They gave the former Shield powerhouse as much of a push as they could muster, including a Royal Rumble win in 2015 along with a Wrestlemania win over The Underta...

My Favorite Memory

My favorite memory would be when my family and I attended an Oakland A's game on fireworks night when I was 8 years old. At the time, the A's were a fairly pedestrian team hovering around.500, but that had no impact on my anticipation. This was my favorite team, and the chance to see them live on a hot Summer day was a dream come true. We arrived at the Oakland Coliseum slightly late, so the game had already moved into the bottom of the first inning. As soon as we sat down, the A's hit a deep home run, and the stadium erupted. Two minutes in, and we were already at peak excitement. The d...
