Biography
I'm a writer with a love of travel, ideas, people, and experiences. I believe that writing connects people across barriers that range from cultural to geographic. The shared human experience is what makes us human, and why we keep striving to do better.
I have a film degree, where I specialized in writing, directing, and music. I also have a postgraduate degree in English. I have lived in South Africa and Japan. My experiences have gifted me with an open mind. I'm deeply passionate about storytelling and lifting the voices of the unheard.
It goes without saying that I'm a voracious reader. I'm currently working my way through classic literature, but I have a particular love for well-written fantasy, which began when I first read The Lord of the Rings when I was nine years old. I also love historical fiction and science-fiction. I don't discriminate when it comes to stories, and also have a passion for screenwriting and video games.
My lifetime love of learning means that I can research any topic, including those I'm unfamiliar with. As a former teacher and storyteller, I want my readers to understand new concepts, and I will do everything I can to ensure my content is relevant and easy to grasp.
Everyone has a story. Let me tell yours.

An Encounter
I took stock of where I was. The passages were dark, the walls almost collapsing in on themselves, a claustrophobia that hurt my head. It was clear that whatever facility I found myself in hadn’t been built with humans in mind; the contours and planes were wrong. The floor was uneven, and I stumbled along as I fought against the walls, my head, and the sight I had just witnessed to get a grip on reality. I stumbled along for a while and was met with endless abandoned hallways and doors that opened and closed. It was clear that I was being led in a certain direction. Despite the appearance...
A Star Wars Story
Star Wars began as a single film which was released in 1977. This film was titled Star Wars (1977), but would later be renamed with the addendum A New Hope (1977). Two sequels followed A New Hope (1977), named The Empire Strikes Back (1980) and The Return of the Jedi (1983). Despite plans for a prequel trilogy, fans would have to wait nearly 20 years before it would be released in 1999. Fans and writers were not idle during this period, and Star Wars as a narrative began to reach beyond the films. The generation which saw A New Hope in cinemas had grown with the films, and were expectin...
Naledi
The sun baked the ochre walls of the shebeen that stood alone on the dusty road. The grasslands, once known as the highveld, shimmered in the haze. The solar panels in the back of the shebeen got the full blast of the sunlight all day, every day. Solar panels were cheap, and powered the tiny building’s cooling. Despite the heat of midday and the lack of a door, windows, or insulation, the interior of the shebeen remained cool even under Africa’s harsh sun. It was a slow time of day. The extreme temperature meant there were few travellers on the dusty road, despite it being the main route t...
