My name is Catherine, and I am an essayist and storyteller. My passion lies in bringing different worlds, real and imagined, to life on the page. Through several long book projects I have had the opportunity to do this. There's always more to discover through writing, and I'm eager to do so.
I understand humanity by putting what I see down on the page. When I was a small child I would take my notebook and write down observations about my neighborhood. As I've gotten older, these observations have become more complex. For the past ten years I have been continuing to do this as a newspaper writer and editor, office copyist, and children's storywriter. Through dozens of writing projects I have put my skills to use over the past few years.
Non-fiction writing allows me to use my attention to detail to tell clear narratives about our world.

Getting Ready
The weight of my laptop bag is heavier today. Either my muscles are weak from the half a bottle of cheap Prosecco last night or the humidity in the air has finally succeeded in slowly drowning me on dry land. A scraping sound comes from within the sturdy fabric, like hard stone on expensive fucking metal.
