Biography
My name is Louise, and I am from the beautiful city Kimberley in the Northern Cape. As a proud product of a small-town community, I am a true testimony of just how big Northern Cape dreams are.
My journey in education started at the University of the Free state where I completed a four-year Higher Diploma in Education, a qualification that has sustained me in over 26 years in the trade. I am currently reading a course in E-learning ecologies at the University of Illinois as a credit towards a Master’s Degree at the same institution eventually.
My desire to keep on evolving has landed me in different educational scenarios in South Africa and abroad. It is my passion for the classroom that has transported me all the way to the Middle East. My experience here has opened me to revolutionary and transformative nature of our ever-evolving society, and this has driven my need to pay it forward (and backward)
No learner can be left behind.
I am currently involved in a research project with Eazy-Digi Edtech solution, an educational Technology institution like-mindedly intent on working towards a united education system for Africa and the world. I told you I don’t dream small.
What am I about? Well, my desire to impact the world is what moves me. I do believe in the power that lies in the pen. Because our society has changed so much and continues to do so at an exponential pace, I do believe that we need to be equipped with the skills set that will allow us to be functional members of society and the global village we live in. It is this desire that drives me to constantly research opportunities that align with this vision. If you're involved in impacting the world and drive this same narrative, I would be happy to walk the journey with you in whichever way I can.
Previous experience, degrees, and qualifications
My trajectory in education started at the University of the Free State, where I completed a four-year teaching qualification specializing in English language teaching. My training has sustained 26 years of teaching experience. I have continued engaging in rigorous and continuous professional development. The term 'lifelong learner', defines me.
The desire to keep evolving has landed me in varied educational scenarios in South Africa and abroad. I have experience in teaching English as a first and additional language to primary and high school learners. My passion for the classroom has hauled me to the Middle East for a while. My international experiences include teaching English as a foreign language to learners from different nationalities across Grades 9-12. I currently tutor students online. I am also a member of a research board, Eazydigi Edtech Solutions in Nigeria, where we are studying the impact of change on education.

How I'd describe my personality in two sentences
As the proverbial eternal optimist, I believe that nothing is impossible and that everything is at least worth a try. My natural instinctive empathy makes me a good listener and result-seeker with a good and honest nature, drawn to the simple, yet meaningful offerings of life.
How I'd describe my approach to my work
Society's evolutionary and transitional nature has driven my need to persevere and contribute to humankind by doing what I do best - inspire! I can boast of an impeccable work ethic and the desire to excel, regardless of the task. I am adaptable, amenable, and constantly vigilant of ways to improve. I am self-aware and conscious that situational experiences offer learnable and teachable moments. Hence, any product one creates, whether significant or frivolous, has to be meaningful and impactful.
Why should you choose me for your project
My expertise, accumulated through classroom experience, traveling and my unique positioning amongst ubiquitious experts, is extensive and varied. Not all knowledge is obtainable through a course of study at an educational institute. A huge drawback is the lack of proof of the vast amount of experience I have amassed in my twenty-six years in the field of education. My travel experience qualifies me to speak on various topics experienced on life's journey. Though I would never presume or claim to be a know-it-all, I have stories to share and far-reaching experiences that continually inspire me to write. Your project is a gift to the world. That is how I will receive and approach it. Being the logophile that I am my relationship with words will bring your vision alive.

Mali Pavilion at Dubai Expo 2020
Growing up, we were always told about Timbucktwo and it represented either a mythical place or a faraway place or just the name you gave, if you couldn't account for someone's whereabouts. How fascinating to learn that TINBUCTU actually exists!!!! Mali!!! Wow, Mali!! Again I have to express how amazing it is to get to travel to so many places without hopping on a plane. But now the problem is...I want so badly to go and breathe this in!!! So many things about the Mali pavillion stands out. I highlight but a few... 1. It showcases rich and fascinating culture and heritage. It allows you...
Home is where the heart was?
What a shocking truth the past tense version evokes - especially when you realize how true it is. Yesterday was a hard day. I made the startling discovery that everything had changed. The happy home of a childhood reality no longer exists. 'Home' is no longer home. It is no longer the fun and laughter everyday while life happens. It is no longer squabbles, banter, stupid arguments, teasing and pranks. Dolefully it is no longer a place where brothers and sisters bring chaos under the stern, watchful, yet doting eyes of pretend-strict parents. 'Home' has moved on silently in migratory hearts a...
