Imaginative Writer Extraordinaire

Biography

I am a Work-From-Home Entrepreneurial mother of 1. I am a facilitator of various themes and love working with people.

I am a qualified psychological counselor and I have worked in the fields of Domestic Abuse, Substance Abuse, Family Rehabilitation, Community Facilitation, Skills Empowerment, and Trauma Counseling. I have worked at different centers of rehabilitation and homes for victims of domestic violence. I have seen my clients change from victims to overcomers. And they had taught me much more than I could ever teach them.

I have always had a love of writing. I have always enjoyed entertaining people with the images in my mind through my writing. I have always enjoyed helping someone with what I have learned in my life through my experiences. I enjoy putting those gems into my written pieces so that other people can relate and learn and live. I enjoy being able to provide someone with an escape from their reality, even just for a little time.

Previous experience, degrees, and qualifications

I have a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and have almost 20 years of experience in counseling in various fields from Domestic Violence to Substance Abuse, and motivating people to become the best they can be.
I also have my own business where I do small-scale printing and copying, as well as do the admin for other small businesses including their basic bookkeeping.
I also help Non-Profit organizations with their admin and setup, facilitation, and training on various topics, and help with their community advocacy and awareness in different fields, specifically women and youth empowerment, parenting classes, and sobriety maintenance support. I also do the occasional motivational talk with the community on various topics.

Interests and hobbies

Besides cooking and baking, I enjoy embroidery. I enjoy reading, writing, and spending time with my family.
I also enjoy watching history documentaries, especially about old buildings like castles and churches, archeology, and learning how people lived.
I love spending time in my community and believe that I need to leave a positive footprint in the place I live.

How I'd describe my personality in two sentences

I am easy-going, generous with my time, knowledge, and affection, and try and find the good in everybody. People often underestimate my ability to get angry because I prefer to handle a situation with humor.

How I'd describe my approach to my work

I am creative, thorough, and dedicated. I apply my knowledge and experience in every project I write, and maintain my professionalism throughout. I maintain originality in my work and ensure that I give all my concentration to my projects. I can be quite serious, but I can also be humorous, depending on what is required. I always read through the work before I submit it to ensure that I haven't missed anything.

Why should you choose me for your project

I will bring your ideas and visions to life by gaining as many facts and knowledge from you, and work with you from your outline, either designed by you, or where you have collaborated with another writer, or create an outline myself. I do extensive research and write from my experience so that your project is based on facts with relatable material that people can apply to their own lives. I am able to simplify technical terms so that readers from all walks of life can understand. And that's just my non-fiction!
I can create characters and scenes that are honest, charming, and heartwarming. These characters can find themselves in the midst of action, love, heartbreak, or quirky happiness. Their relationships can be based on a strong friendship, soft and sweet romance, or it can be steamy-hot.
Together we can bring your dream to life!

Billows 2: The Tarnished Knight

The sound resounded around the suddenly quiet bar as Matti’s hand left the boy’s forehead. “Dude! What did you do that for?” young, scrawny Taylor asked, his china-blue eyes wide with shock. “For ignoring my warnings about being stupid,” Matti declared. He watched as Taylor’s normally pale skin turned a striking red where Matti’s hand had landed. Oh shank! He thought as he beat a hasty retreat to the kitchen. He leaned against the inside of the kitchen door and closed his eyes. What the hell had just happened? Had he really just slapped young Taylor Burman against the forehead? He pin...

Billows 1: When Lambs Become Lions

Aria meant lion in Hebrew, she thought as she looked at her oval face in the mirror. She studied her hazel eyes and noticed that they were darker than they had ever been in her life. They stood out because her face had lost its shape over the last five years; her cheeks had become so sunken. She studied the new bruise around her left eye, standing stark against her pale cheek. She scoffed at her thought. She never saw herself as a lion and thought her father had been raving mad when he named her. She picked up the tube of concealer impatiently, in an attempt to dispel her dismal thoughts....

Barrington Chronicles

He watched her from across the crowded ballroom, his height allowing him the best vantage point over the fancy hair decorations of the ladies of the ton. She was almost plainly dressed compared to the other chits vying for attention. Her soft pink gown highlighting her peaches-and-cream complexion and cherry-colored lips, the candles emphasizing the auburn streaks in her red hair that was simply styled in a chignon. Even at the distance of the large room between them, he could see the tiny cherry buds embroidered into the neckline of her gown that so gently draped her well-shaped form. Arou...

Cigar Box Mysteries

“Rexit!” I shake my dark head as I follow my German Shepherd into the graveyard. “Rexit! Heel!” The dog ignored me as he chased the scent that had caught his attention. I followed him to a small corner of the cemetery, his nose deep in what looked like a mole’s hole. This place was notorious for moles. And where there were moles, there were creatures who ate moles. I shuddered as I imagined the flat head poking out of the hole. His tail stopped wagging as he continued to sniff, and then he gently pawed the ground around the hole. I frowned as I watched him. Rexit and I worked togeth...

The Secret About Confidence

No one is born confident. As we mature, we realize what our strengths are and what we are not as comfortable with. This means we tend to stick to what we know and prefer to avoid doing things that could challenge us. This s the time you need to try something at least thrice: once to test the procedure and the second to test your method of doing it. When you do it the third time, you will know how to adjust the procedures to suit your methods and this will mean that you can achieve something new, giving you the motivation you need to try something different. Being confident is less about a...
