Biography
Welcome! You can call me De; I look forward to working with you! I am a recent graduate of the Concordia University of Edmonton, with a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in English and minoring in History. While I was there, I discovered my passion for writing and my passion for many different genres, styles, and projects. While I became very experienced in academic and research-based writing while I was there, I was also able to explore different styles of fiction, which became a true passion. In addition, of course, having only recently left formal academia, I am well-versed in handling deadlines and writing on many different topics.
Ultimately, the ability to form the rest of my career based on my writing is a dream come true. I enjoy being challenged, and while I have a distinctive writing style, I’ve worked very hard to make sure that my style can be transferred into multiple genres and subjects. I am particularly keen on writing horror, romance, sci-fi, fantasy, and LGBT+ stories, but I am always excited to flex my writing muscles and keep my writing ever-evolving. Writing is my career, but I like to bake, sew, embroider, garden, and play multiple instruments. I want to try everything at least once and keep my options open, which makes me the ideal person to cover many different types of projects. I like to say I have a general knowledge of many things, and that gives me the background for researching topics further as efficiently as possible.

Life Sentences
“I don’t love you.” Avery’s voice shattered the comfort of the bedroom he’d grown to know, despite how soft he’d tried to make it. Bellmont’s room had suddenly become a foreign place, even as the words dropped from his lips. Avery shuddered but continued breathlessly, watching Bellmont. “I don’t love you, I can’t love you, and I won’t love you. You’re a job, Bellmont. A source of income. That’s all you are to me.” It came out of his throat choked, forced. He’d waited too long, should have said it the first night he’d realized. Now his body was rebelling against what he had to do. He had...
Homoeroticism in Frankenstein
The broader stereotypes at work are in Victor’s behaviour and attitudes himself. Victor has a weaker, more ‘feminine’ disposition and constitution, which was known to be common to homosexuals at the time (Sha 93). The stereotype of fainting gay men with feminine attributes developed when Shelley was writing Frankenstein and are evident in how Victor responds to stress, with breakdowns and extremely nervous behaviour. As well the inspiration for Robert’s homosexual tendencies and the relationship between himself and Victor are rooted in homosexual stereotypes at the time. While some, like Be...
Food On The Table
One would have thought that in the last 300 or so years, killing would have gotten harder. People had become so interconnected that noticing someone was missing was faster than ever, and each year the police gained more technology to aid in their cases. The advent of fingerprinting had been frustrating enough, but DNA evidence required much more concern. By all accounts, it only seemed to be getting harder to get away with murder. At least, so people seemed to think. Estelle had long observed the new challenges society threw at her, and each time, she’d overcome them. It helped, of cour...
Transitioning The Body
Cesario does physically pass with a fair amount of success, despite the confusion of bodily inconsistencies for other characters. However, as is the case with Bay-Cheng, the limitations of Cesario’s male presentation do not always make him recognizable as a woman beneath his presented body either (Bay-Cheng and Sennet 41). During Cesario and Feste’s exchange on the arbitrariness of words, there is a hint of this indeterminate body beneath (3.1.27). Cesario is as difficult to pin down as words, with the body beneath and the words being said in their exchange having a certain arbitrary meanin...
That Which Is Unseen
Riding out in the middle of the night without at least a squad to watch one's back was bound to make a man feel a bit paranoid. Still, fear was no excuse when it came to preventing a man from taking necessary action, and Ardens had done worse things under logic like that. His grandmother might have been disappointed in him, but then again she usually was. Probably was muttering about her grandson's lack of common sense right now, even though he hadn't sent them back a letter in a month. She was probably right. She almost always was, even when the glamour of youth had gone, and Ardens had be...
