Biography

Hey there,

My name is Lucille Tracy, and I'm excited to start working with you!

Since I was a little kid, staying up late to race through the final chapters of my favorite books, I've been alive to the power and potential of the written word. Growing up I realized I had an affinity for writing myself, and I want to use it to help give voice to your project.

I hold a First Class Honors B.A in both English and History and I have several years of experience as a journalist under my belt. I have also had my fiction writing published in a number of literary magazines, ranging in genre from family drama to fantasy. I was nominated for awards for my journalism in both 2020 and 2021.

As a journalist and university student I developed a rigorous skillset in researching and analyzing a wide variety of topics in the disciplines of literature, history, and politics. As a writer I've used my imagination to bring colorful worlds and characters to life.

If I'm the writer for you, I can guarantee a thorough, prompt, and creative service wherein I collaborate closely with you to ensure that the final product aligns with your vision.

During the war, both the Falange and its Sección Femenina were crucial in organizing for the Nationalist war effort and disseminating propaganda. ‘Posters, painted portraits, and other imagery produced during the war were an important part of a lar...

Queercoding: a Visual History in Subtext

Despite feelings of disappointment from some quarters with regards to characters being queer-coded as opposed to having open LGBT+ representation, it's a practice that can be used positively. In Cartoon Network’s breakout success Steven Universe, the coded same-sex relationship (and eventual marriage) of Ruby and Sapphire is an important part of the show, as are Pearl's feelings for Rose. Other main characters are also coded as queer, with one even using they/them pronouns. These identities are viewed as natural within the world of the show and go unremarked upon. To some, this treatment of...

The Politics of Water and the Blooming of the Arab Spring

The inciting incident for the Arab Spring occurred in Tunisia on the 17th of December 2010 when a street vendor named Mohamed Bouazizi set himself on fire. This self-immolation was intended as a protest after he had his cart taken from him by police. In a country with a youth unemployment rate of 29.4%, selling fruit and vegetables from his cart was Bouazizi’s only way to make a living. The high-unemployment had been leading to a growing mood of frustration among the populace, and Bouazizi’s actions provided a catalyst for the waves of protests across the country that only ended on the 14th...
