Biography

I leave teacups on my bookshelf.

Previous experience, degrees, and qualifications

I graduated in 2017 with a Bachelors Degree in Interior Design and Decor but in the same course realized that books and writing was my calling. So, I applied for a Masters Degree in Journalism and Communication at one of the top colleges in the city and made the cut. I graduated two years later with a Masters degree in tow and a suitcase full of dreams.

I began my career as a Sub-Editor and Reporter for a local coffee table magazine. In 2021, I switched to a Pan-India Art and Lifestyle magazine as the Editorial Manager. I received an incredible offer to work for a national radio station and took it. By the end of 2021, I was a Senior Executive for Radio Creative Solutions. I ideated, scripted and produced radio advertisements and campaigns.

In August 2023, I decided that it was time for me to move on from radio and explore other opportunities. Hence I quit and started French coaching for children with plans to write and enter entrepreneurship.

I've dubbed for Junior artists in a Tamil film in two different languages; been (and still am) a freelance content writer, social media writer, blogger for several websites, exhibited and sold paintings and voiced advertisements.

Interests and hobbies

I am a reader, naturally and my interests in reading lie in fiction, thriller, mystery, fantasy, sci-fi and the lot of it. Apart from reading, I've developed a tons of interests and hobbies thanks to the my Bachelors Degree as it exposed me to the world of art. I enjoy painting, baking, sewing, photography, poetry (reading and writing) and have quite recently, developed a case of green fingers.

How I'd describe my personality in two sentences

I believe I'm an old souled millennial. Although I'm an extrovert and live with a zest for life, I'm really calm and patient.

How I'd describe my approach to my work

Working in the radio industry taught me something eye-opening: There are no bad ideas; only ideas that need refining. I apply this principle whenever I come across a project and,

a) It helps me distance my personal opinions from the project, pushing me to give my 100%.
b) It offers a challenge, keeping me on my toes.

Applying this to my writer-self has been a game changer in an amazing way. I'm a dreamer, a planner, a risk-taker but more than anything, an optimist to the bone. And thanks to the said principle, I approach writing with a horde of possibilities and my optimism does not take as many hits as it used to when I was green.

Why should you choose me for your project

Reality and fiction are a fine balance. But as a writer, I stand by a particular rule and that is, 'Realism and fiction in books are what you make it.'

But how do you make it? How do you make a fictitious idea seem so real or give depth to a realistic idea that the person reading it will feel it as if it's happening in front of their own eyes?

The answer is through language.

My experience in writing, research and stories go a long way and in that long way, I've learnt how the proper usage of words along with a decent flow of language can make or break a story. And I aim to help you make stories. Simple, complicated, animated... I want to listen to your ideas, plots, opinions etc. and make exceptional stories out of them using my expertise in language, communication, research, objectivity and my ability to put myself in the narrator's/ characters' shoes. And being the old soul I am, I do my best to avoid AI tools and retain the originality that only comes with a human touch.
