Biography

I have worked as an art educator for the past ten years in the mountains of North Carolina. Spending my days making art with kids is a privilege and a passion. While writing has always played some part in my professional work, in recent years I’ve found that I really enjoy and excel at gig writing. I have experience ghost writing children's stories, mystery stories, gardening blogs and book cover descriptions.

I am loyal, straightforward and have a good sense of humor. I am also task-oriented and thrive within structure and routines.

How I'd describe my approach to my work

As a teacher I am accustomed to backwards planning so it’s natural for me to develop an in-depth understanding of the big picture first. After studying the entire scope of a project I like to break it down into steps, creating a timeline of attainable goals that align with the outline and work within the project deadline. With fictional work I try to put myself into the scene and embody characters to support the development of stories that create a connection with the reader. With non fiction work I like to first take notes of my own knowledge on a topic before researching additional evidence.
