Biography

I've always loved finding ways to make complex topics click for people – there's something really satisfying about taking something confusing and making it make sense. That passion is what drew me to journalism school, and it's been the thread running through everything I've done since.

Over the years, I've written for all sorts of places and people – from quick social media posts that need to grab attention in seconds to deep-dive articles that really explore a subject. Each project teaches me something new about connecting with different audiences.

Working with teams has been one of the best parts of my journey. There's nothing quite like bouncing ideas around with designers, editors, and other writers who each bring their own perspective. I've learned that the best work happens when everyone feels heard and valued.

My time at the Associated Press was like a crash course in working under pressure. When news breaks, there's no time to overthink – you have to trust your instincts and deliver quality work fast. Those experiences taught me that I actually do my best work when the stakes are high and the clock is ticking.

These days, I also spend time thinking about SEO and how to help articles find their audience online. It's like being part writer, part detective – figuring out how people search for information and making sure my writing speaks their language.

Previous experience, degrees, and qualifications

At Octopus Ink, I was the Head of Marketing writing about everything from the latest medical breakthroughs to emerging tech trends – always trying to make complex stuff accessible to regular people. Working with UENI Ltd was completely different but just as rewarding – I helped small business owners find their voice online and tell their stories in a way that felt genuine, not like corporate speak.

My freelance work with the Associated Press taught me that when news breaks, you don't have time for writer's block. You research fast, write faster, and make sure every fact is bulletproof before it goes out to the world.

Interests and hobbies

When I'm not writing, you'll probably find me deep in a music rabbit hole. I'm one of those people who gets genuinely excited discovering a new genre or artist. I've been dabbling in music production lately, which is basically me in my room at 2 AM trying to figure out why this beat doesn't sound as cool as it did in my head. It's amateur hour for sure, but there's something addictive about creating something from nothing.

How I'd describe my personality in two sentences

I'm the type of person who gets a little too excited about a well-crafted sentence or a clever turn of phrase. I love taking an idea that's just floating around and turning it into something people actually want to read. Deadlines energize me. And I'm always reading, always learning, because the moment you think you know everything about writing is the moment you stop getting better.

How I'd describe my approach to my work

Every piece I work on matters to me because somewhere out there, a real person is going to read it. Maybe it'll teach them something new, maybe it'll make their day a little better, or maybe it'll help them solve a problem they've been wrestling with.

I believe good writing can actually change things. Not in a grandiose way, but in small, meaningful moments when the right words land with the right person at the right time.
