Biography
My name is.
I've been a professional writer for a couple of years now. However, it might surprise you that I have an - MA degree in Animation and New Media! Funny, right? Let me break it down a bit for you.
Ever since I was a young child, all I wanted to be was a writer. Imagine a seven-year-old child dragging their Agatha Christie collection up the school stairs while teachers watch them in shock. Seriously, why is that little girl carrying books about murder and blood with herself?
I wanted to be the next Agatha Christie. So I started writing. I wrote and wrote story after story. Ongoing stories consisting of hundreds of chapters. Full of action, mystery, and romance. I lived in my made-up world. But it wasn't enough for me - I wanted to illustrate my characters, bring them to life. So I learned how to draw.
Since then, I went on to combine my two greatest loves: storytelling and drawing. I started drawing comics - soon becoming one of the most prolific Croatian comics artists and writers. I went on to study Animation in hopes of writing for animated features and TV shows.
Animation college taught me much more about writing than you'd think. We had a particular class dedicated to storyboarding and screenwriting, which taught me how to pinpoint the story beats, develop creative ideas, and outline my stories. I applied all of this to my novels.
Writing strong, exciting chapters and emotionally deep characters the audience can relate to weren't the only things I learned. New Media classes taught me video editing, experimental art forms, and facing complex social issues through art. We've spent hours learning about performance art and how it relates to our environment. This made me have a strong flair for social justice issues. I am personally Queer, and coming from that perspective; I can offer something unique to you - whether writing about marginalized groups or providing a different worldview.
Of course, Animation didn't revolve around Animation only. There were multiple other classes: Film history, Film analysis, Art history, Aesthetics in Art, Sociology of Art... All classes I had to take.
This led me to be proficient in film analysis and history, from Fellini and Hitchcock to Spielberg. I've had to watch and analyze over 200 movies during my five years of college.
I'm also familiar with art history and the evolution of style. And not only art history - but history in general. Analyzing art takes a lot of knowledge about the time it was created; understanding political figures, culture, wars, fashion, and everyday life. In school, I went to history competitions, scoring well on the tests and showcasing my knowledge.
Croatian school gave me suitable intellectual prepositions. I've taken the following classes: Psychology, Sociology, Philosophy, History, Geography, Literature (Croatian and English), Italian, and Latin.
We had a strong literature program which consisted of reading the big classics and analyzing them, writing the reviews, and writing comparisons of each piece.
I assume you've noticed my name does not sound very English. It is not. I am Croatian - but I've been fluently speaking and writing in English for 10+ years now, even having gone to competitions where I performed well. I've taken Advanced English classes in college, which taught analytical and professional writing in the fields of art and humanities. I am perfectly fluent, both in jargon and standard English.
I am a voracious reader. And a pretty quick one at that. My other college options besides Animation were Comparative literature and Sociology. This required me to read dozens of books to prepare for the entrance exams, including books on art history and Animation. I've read plenty - from Dostoyevsky and Pushkin to Jane Austen and Balzac. I've had to analyze each of these writers and their books in-depth, finding symbolism and dissecting their styles. I have a strong foundation in literature analysis and summary writing.
Thank you for sticking through and I am looking forward to working with you,

The Summer Nights
The summer nights were warm and filled with laughter. Dance. Crickets. Birds still singing in the distance, confused by men and women alike delighting in feasts of fruit and meat; shiny goblets confusing the flocks. The wine that spilled from them flowed like a honeyed river - so sweet and rich, truly fitting for a happy feast like this one. Everyone laughed and sang: and so did Evelyn. Perhaps a few years ago, she would've found such a picture of bacchanalian indulgence and banquet which was just-a-few-pieces-of-clothes-away from an orgy distasteful and offensive, but that was it, wasn'...
Wedding
Silas carried Jeyne to their little cottage - well, he stumbled and swayed in good spirits, flushed with wine and sweet fruit. The crowd had only let them go when Silas insisted. Most of them simply remained at the feast, still talking and cackling as they made jokes about the archer and his newlywed wife. "Careful, you'll drop me!" Jeyne laughed and grabbed Silas' broad shoulders as tightly as she could. Her husband was drunk - that much she knew, and well - the wine made her head dizzy and floaty. And everything was so funny. And everything was so beautiful.
Waking up
Satin woke up in a bed, his skin on fire. For a second, he thought he was in a burning building. He was sweating, swimming in his own sweat, his breath short and fast, panicked. It was like someone had poured gasoline over him and lit a match. He burnt. Fire ants crawled up his arms. He jolted right up in a sitting position, a soft blanket falling off him. Where was he? He looked left and right but saw absolutely nothing in the darkness. Finally, he stilled his heartbeat and took in a deep breath. Oh. That's where he was.
