Biography

Hi and welcome to my original, witty and hilarious bio. First, I want to congratulate you. As someone who has written and published a book, I know the time, energy, love, and patience that go into any writing project. Selecting the person to help write your work is monumental. It can feel like you are handing over one of your children to a perfect stranger. I have been writing and editing for over ten years. I don't just see this as a job but as a passion. I love words, all of them. I will treat your project with the utmost respect.
What should you know about me?
My love of reading was gifted to me by my grandmother. If she wasn't telling me stories, she was sharing some of her favorites with me. My personal library standouts would include, Little Women, One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish, and To Kill A Mockingbird, and all things written by Sarah Knight.
I have successfully fed, watered, and raised three amazing children. I am married to my best friend. I have degrees in Psychology and English. I love to travel and explore how people live all over the world. I am a huge foodie. The only fear I have in life is feet, however irrational. I read a book a week, and I wish I had time to read more. I love to laugh, and anyone who can tell a great joke.

Previous experience, degrees, and qualifications

I love to learn, so I tend to make a side career out of lifelong learning. I currently have a Masters in Psychology with a specialty in Grief. Two years after obtaining this degree, I obtained my certificate in Sports Psychology. I also hold a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature. To keep myself current, I have taken two SEO certification courses.
What deems me "qualified" to write? Great question, I believe a great writer consists of skill, commitment, and passion. I treat everything in my life with these three core values, including my writing. I have more than 35 years of experience in a vast array of topics. I ran a private practice for mental health for ten years. Self-help is my biggest niche. Grief, marriage counseling, teen anxiety, parenting, you name it, I have seen it, then wrote about it.
When it comes it experience, I believe you can have all the education possible, but I too have written and published a book. Going through the experience and knowing what your customer deserves is key. I know what I wanted during my publishing experience, and what was lacking. I know that vulnerability when handing over your ideas. I take every project and give it the same attention I wanted when I published. I started my career here as an editor, so I am able to look at a manuscript with a well-rounded eye and offer the customer the whole package.

Interests and hobbies

I love to travel, it gives me the chance to meet new people and explore other cultures.
Puzzles, they help to quiet my very busy brain.
Cooking, and especially trying new recipes. Getting creative in the kitchen gets me excited.
Watching our five grown children make their way in this world.
Reading, I know all writers/editors say this, but reading grounds me.
I grew food for the first time in my life this year, well two cucumbers and five zucchini, but yeah I did that!
Laughing with my core friends. They are wonderful and they soothe my soul.
A great Netflix series, with snacks of course.
Sea turtles and any baby animal on the planet.
Making future plans with my husband, my liquid calm.

How I'd describe my personality in two sentences

Life has made me pedal uphill with one wheel most of my life and this has resulted in a kind heart, accepting of all, loving, and hilarious. I don't let anything get in my way of living an amazing life, except feet...I am irrationally terrified of feet.

How I'd describe my approach to my work

I have systems and charts for everything. I am meticulous, thorough, and a pro at time management. Your process is key in this line of work. I always approach a project as if it were my own work being published. In fact, I have published myself so I know the stress and importance of putting out nothing less than perfection.
I will always treat you with the utmost respect, I'll be in constant contact with updates and address your concerns with care. Being available to you, answering your questions, and collaborating with you is why I am here.

Why should you choose me for your project

You need to have a connection with your writer. You need to feel confident in their ability to not only write what is in your head and heart but to complete it on time. I am confident in my abilities to communicate well with you, collaborate with you, and always respect what it is you are trying to publish.
I have never finished a project late, but most importantly, I haven't left a customer unsatisfied. I intend to keep that track record. I have also been an editor and find this an advantage, because as I write, I am always in editing mode, improving as I go.
