Biography
“The difference between the right word and the almost right word is the difference between lightning and a lightning bug.” - Mark Twain
Like all writers, I think I was born with a love of reading. First Tintin; I devoured the complete series at 6. Then the Hardy Boys, Tom Swift, Encyclopedia Brown, and many others kept me busy throughout grade 2. I discovered the Hobbit near the end of grade 3, and finished off the Lord of the Rings and even the Silmarillion before the end of the year. Since then if anything I've only sped up.
Almost as soon as I was reading books, I was imitating them, for school writing projects, and journals, and personal projects. As soon as the internet came to town (yes I'm old enough to have had almost a whole childhood without it) I was reading and writing in forums. My first published works were a handful of contemporary short stories submitted in a contest for a short story anthology, and since then I have also written fantasy, educational materials and manuals, essays and articles on philosophy, politics, and history, and even scripts, story lines, and rules for game development. I taught English in China for 12 years, competed professionally in Mixed Martial Arts, wrote strategy guides and briefly went semi-pro in Starcraft, and, of course, have been reading and writing the whole time. I have a broad range of experiences and interests, but I tend to have laser focus on just one at at time, achieving as near complete mastery of it as I can before moving on.
My major enduring passion, the unifying theme of all my experiences, is my love not just of personal challenge, but also of helping others overcome theirs. I taught not just in the classroom, but I coached in soccer, coached in MMA, even coached in Starcraft. As a game designer I loved the collaborative process of working with my fellow designers and testers best of all. And as a ghost writer, I get the opportunity to help you bring your vision to the page. I can't wait to get started!

Of Ants and Men
It was a hot day. The pavement radiated heat in waves that scorched the ant’s underbelly as she pushed debris away from the entrance to their colony. She was a sweeper; her task was to take grains of dirt that had been excavated by the diggers from the entrance and move them so that the entrance would not become blocked. She had worked diligently at this task for a week, nodding her head in greeting to the diggers as they brought up more dirt from the inner sanctum, and to the scouts as they left to find food, and to the soldiers guarding the perimeter, and the gatherers returning with food...
The Role of Ideological Inclinations
The real role that ideological tendencies play in individuals is to give them a set of default assumptions on how to address the problems of society. But default assumptions are amenable to being overridden by first hand experience and pragmatic concerns; and the more first hand experience one accumulates, and the stronger their pragmatic concerns, the less their innate ideological preferences will have a role in their actual beliefs and actions. On the scale of societies, generally there tends to be a fairly even divide between liberal, egalitarian, and stability inclined people, and t...
Introduction to First Nations Mythology
Welcome to the amazing mythological worlds of the First Nations. With this book as your guide, you will explore some of the most famous, influential, and powerful stories of the North American continent, and, indeed, of the world. A culture’s mythology is its philosophy, its history, and its psychology, distilled down to their purest narrative forms. An oral mythology is a living mythology, passed down generation by generation with just a few refinements here and there, edging ever closer to perfection. Those parts which don’t ring true are discarded; those parts which ring truest are e...
