Biography
When I was a little girl, I would scribble down stories on loose notebook paper. I loved to write murder mysteries but I attribute that to the fact that I sat with my mom for hours at a time while she flipped between NCIS and Criminal Minds. It made me look like a morbid kid, but really I was just finding my love for storytelling. The classic murder mystery trope taught me the magic of twists and turns, the nail-biting power of suspense, and most importantly the love I have for writing fiction.
I graduated from Arizona State University in 2019 with a degree in Justice Studies, with an education that was heavily focused on social and civil justice. I examined race, gender, sexuality, disability, and much more through reading the works of those who fought for justice. I was influenced heavily by Audre Lorde, a revolutionary titan that I had to read for almost every class in my college career. My time at ASU taught me the importance of being able to research a topic and be able to synthesize all of your knowledge into a completely new and transformative work. I love being able to dive into a subject and then sharing the knowledge I’ve learned; college taught me to love expository and nonfiction works.
Thanks to the love and support of my family, I finally took the plunge and decided to chase my dream of being a writer.
