Biography

“Don't bend; don't water it down; don't try to make it logical; don't edit your own soul according to the fashion. Rather, follow your most intense obsessions mercilessly.” ― Franz Kafka

Hi! I'm the Writing Guru and I live for this stuff! Writing allows for freedom of your thoughts and ideas in an unassuming way. I consider it my job to assist in freeing the shackles from people who desire to be writers. Everyone has a story to tell! I have been telling my story and the story of hundreds of other people for quite sometime. While I consider writing my natural gift, I still felt it necessary to receive formal training as well. Consequently, I have received a Master of Arts degree in English and a Master of Science degree in Editing and Publishing. I consider it a service to the writing community and I am fully prepared for whatever subject matter comes my way!

Since I was a child, I have had a love of reading. I was three years old reading to my mother and father and then explaining to them what I thought the message was. They were amused...and apparently proud. I remember reading to their friends when they came to visit until everyone in their circle had participated in story time. Soon, my love for reading turned into my love for writing. From the time that I was in junior high school until now, I have written thousands of pieces. Even until this day, writing would give me a freedom unmatched by any other outlet imaginable! I am called upon by my community to write opinion pieces, campaign speeches, stage plays, and in a more private capacity-novels, essays, short stories, even grant writing. I consider myself a writing guru because there is no form or genre of writing I haven't delved into without precision and confidence. Whether creative, academic, or technical, I get it done! Some of the genres that have brought freedom to my mind:
Nonfiction
Autobiography
Biography
Memoir
Religious/ Spiritual
Self help
Relationships
Compilations
Pets
Parental relationships
History
Current Affairs
Politics

And fiction
Children's books
Poetry
Young children
Teens
Romance
Cozy mysteries
Superhero/ Action
Comedy

I would be honored to help you experience your freedom in an unapologetic and unabashed manner!

Man at the Crossroads

Legend has it that Robert Johnson was a whiz at playing the harmonica and that his voice was the epitome of human cries that emanated from his soul; however, audiences were taken aback by the horrific sound that flowed from his guitar between sessions. Son House and Willie Brown, two of the provincial blues players in Hazelhurst, commented that his guitar playing amounted to a ‘racket’ while others compared it to the sounds of death. These legends within their own rights had taken Johnson under their wing but were not pleased with his attempts at guitar playing. He would pick it up and play...

Growing Up

It seemed miles away, but she was determined to get there. Millie couldn’t believe she allowed herself to end up in a place of desolation. But, yet, there she was. It encompassed her with the strength of Samson as he ferociously demolished the temple of Dagon. But she kept moving as the abdominal pains hit with every step she took. Where was her mother? In times like these, she thought her mother would be there for her. Protecting her, keeping her from such a tribulation as this. As Millie’s mind continued to run, she wondered why her mother never taught her to fend for herself. She...
