Biography

My name is Raven Monroe and I have been part of the awesome TUW family since July 2019. Prior to working at The Urban Writers, I worked at various ghostwriting companies wherein I wrote eBooks, blog posts, product reviews, health articles, and more. Since I became a ghostwriter, I have been tasked to write content on different topics using a wide range of styles and formats.
I have always been a writer at heart. Even when I worked as a Preschool Teacher, I was already writing articles and stories on the side. Now that I am writing professionally, I realize that writing isn't just my passion—it is my calling.
My favorite thing about being a ghostwriter is the learning involved in the process. As I start on new projects, I immerse myself in the topics to produce unique, rich, and enlightening content each time. After reading, watching videos, and listening to audio resources, I put my heart into my writing. But the learning doesn't stop there. The editors of our team also provide valuable insight to help improve my writing further.
As much as I love writing, working in a company like The Urban Writers makes the experience even better. Here, we work in an environment that cultivates positivity, support, and a strong sense of community. This encourages everyone to do our best each and every time. Given the chance to choose what to write about, my favorite topics are recipes, health, fitness, dieting, parenting, relationships, travel, and books for children. I also have a lot of experience writing SEO articles. Writing has always been a huge part of my life and I will always be grateful for the opportunity to create written work for entertainment, enlightenment, and even to change the lives of those who love reading.

Previous experience, degrees, and qualifications

I have been a professional ghostwriter since 2017. I've worked with different employers but ever since I worked with TUW, I feel like I've found the place where I am meant to be.
I have written lots of eBooks on different topics such as diets, cookbooks, health and wellness, parenting, gardening, and so much more. I have also written plenty of fictional stories for children, which is my favorite thing to do. Apart from eBooks, I also have a lot of experience writing SEO articles, book descriptions, and blurbs.
I absolutely love writing and I cannot think of anything else I would rather be doing, professionally.

Interests and hobbies

I have always been an avid reader ever since I was young. I started with short novels and worked my way up since then. Apart from reading, I also enjoy graphic design, which I mostly do for those close to me. I love the great outdoors and I try to spend most of my free time exploring different places.

How I'd describe my personality in two sentences

As a person, I am laid-back, approachable, and open-minded. Professionally speaking, I am always honest and open to communication, especially when it comes to collaborating with clients on projects.

How I'd describe my approach to my work

Since writing is my passion, I always start new projects with a high level of motivation. As much as possible, I stick with the deadlines given to me. I communicate openly with clients, editors, and our management team to ensure that projects always flow smoothly from start to finish. I always enjoy receiving positive feedback from clients and editors. But I also accept and appreciate negative feedback (or constructive criticism) as it helps me grow as a writer.

She was professional, as far as being nice. Still, there were a lot of repetitive sentences throughout the manuscript that I had to ask her to delete and replace with something else, and quite a few times I had to ask her to go back and re-read my comments for corrections to be made. I made a lot of suggestions that we ended up using. All between time and at the end, I felt like I had written my own book, and she had used almost everything I had given her from the beginning to have an idea of the direction of what I wanted as well.
