Ghostwriting Contemporary & Historical Fiction, Writing about Slow Travel, Mindfulness & French Countrycore Life

Biography

From the North of England & now living in a little known part of France - the Berry Bas. Enjoying an evolving second career as a ghostwriter of romantic fiction. The words and ideas flow and it never feels like work.

I've been writing non fiction since 2017 in the Self Help (Health Anxiety), Slow Travel Guide & Mindfulness & Positive Psychology in Everyday Life. I've been published by Taylor and Francis for a professional development book about Supervision.

In my first career I worked in leadership/management roles and supported people with communication difficulties. I have a BSc and an MA in Professional Education and Development

One day I will have time to develop my French Countrycore blog on Substack and write my own idea for a Cozynovel. At the moment I am delighting in writing projects and bringing life to the ideas of clients.

Previous experience, degrees, and qualifications

Leadership and Management in Health Service role.
BSc in Speech Therapy.
MA in Professional Education and Development

I'm not listing my achievements in my first career here. I have written blogs and copy for websites. Now I'm committed to developing my writing skills and ghostwriting suits me very well indeed.

Interests and hobbies

Herb gardening. Designing garden spaces.
Walking on beaches. Reading under the shade of an oak tree. Quilting by a log fire.
Noticing nature and changing seasons.

How I'd describe my personality in two sentences

Always ambitious, but enjoying a quiet day at home too.
Loving research and sharing surprise developments

How I'd describe my approach to my work

I always had a goal of enjoying my work, so it no longer felt like work. I achieved that with writing.

I keep a structured day and have a studio for writing. I take breaks - it Makes me a better writer!

Why should you choose me for your project

Thoughtful, individual way of approaching problems. I look at what's working well and do more of it - Appreciative Inquiry approach.

I'm very organised and want my new second career to extend and grow.

Craigloch Castle

As she leaned forward to look in the mirror she gasped. The hair pins fell out of her hand and scattered across the corners of the room. The face which stared back at her from the mirror resembled her face but was also startlingly different. Her hair was long. She knew she had shoulder length hair. It was darker and her blonde highlights had disappeared. She now possessed a mane of straight, dark brown hair which fell down her back, way past shoulder length. Her face was thinne. Her own eyes stared back at her, which was re-assuring, but she had changed from the twenty six year old, profess...

Vengeance on a Village

Agnes glanced up at the full moon through a gap in the clouds. She shivered as the north wind sent an icy chill deep into her bones. She wanted to be home by the fire. It was her birthday in three days. Her mother had promised to make her a fig and almond clafoutis to celebrate her coming of age. Hence the journey to market. She loved the bustle of the town square on market day. It was a weekly opportunity to see friends and family. Everyone shared news of betrothals, births, illness and death. Venturing out today had been a mistake and she realised she was at risk of getting caught in ...

A Regency Romance

Adalia reached for her portmanteau and only she knew it contained a mere two dresses and a warm cloak. As she reached, she overbalanced and fell heavily sideways, landing on top of a fellow traveller. For a second or two she was dazed and unable to move. Then suddenly she looked up and her eyes met a pair of green eyes, flecked with gold. She heard a voice saying in an amused, dry tone “Madam, if you could move off my lap then I could alight from this carriage and not miss my stop and end up in Newcastle”. After a pause the voice continued “Of course if you prefer to stay where you are ...

Christmas at Kirbydale

Melissa was wrong. There was one vehicle parked in the waiting area outside the station. The door opened and a small woman waved at her and called her name “Melissa is that you?” she called. “Erm yes, Hi there,” said Melissa. At least she had understood this woman’s English. The woman came over and took her suitcase from her. “I’m Jane. From Kirbydale Abbey. You must be perished”. “Perished” thought Melissa, what on earth does that mean? Jane smiled at Melissa and she felt her tension dissolving. “You should have stayed in York overnight. If we’d known we could easily have booke...
