Biography

“Let me live, love, and say it well in good sentences.”
--Sylvia Plath, The Unabridged Journals of Sylvia Plath

My name is Eunoia Fen. Reading is my balm, solace, and escape. This has led to a love of the written word, a way to connect to the children I used to teach and the adults I mentored. The Urban Writers platform allows me now to fulfill a dream of writing full-time.

So many things around me inspired me, sometimes small things or life-defining moments. It may be an unusual stone, or the shape of a tree, the gait of an old man walking by, the beauty of nature, animals at play, or even a story on the news that catches my attention. I then garner ideas into notebooks that will eventually spark a story.
I always had a love for writing and poetry; as a young girl, I was never alone when I had a good book to read. I would immerse myself in one adventure after another. A real bookworm, I would huddle in a comfy chair and become completely absorbed in what I was reading.

I never lost my love for reading and writing as I grew up. I taught for many years and would like to think I made an impact on all the little lives I touched, encouraging their imaginations. To nurture the imagination of a child is to allow beautiful things to emerge, just like planting a seed – there is no limit to imagination.

I would often make up stories for the children during storytime; I would ask if the children would want me to read a story. The answer was always, “tell us a story from your mouth” – a phrase my daughters had coined.
I have written blogs, scripts for videos, created teaching guides and children’s stories. I love all genres and am comfortable writing fiction and non-fiction.

Growing up I read a lot of fiction and still do, but added to my list; are books on Spirituality and Self-Help.
A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle, The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz, and The Prophet by Kahlil Gibran are books that changed my life.

“Unless you try to do something beyond what you have already mastered, you will never grow.” -Ronald E. Osborn
I love learning! There is so much out there that I do not yet know. What I know for sure is that the desire to grow and learn keeps one young. That is why I enjoy the research involved when starting a new project, whether it be fiction or non-fiction. I love the challenge.

Here are examples of the types of fictional genres I enjoy writing:
Romance
Erotica
Science Fiction
Fantasy
Thriller
Action
Adventure
Young Adult
Horror
Paranormal
Family Drama
Children’s Stories
Comedy

Here are examples of Non-Fiction genres I enjoy writing and researching:
History

Autobiographies
Memoirs
Travel guides
Travelogues
Philosophy
Self-help
How-To Manuals/Guides
Pets and Pet Care
Health
Fitness
Sex Guides
Relationships

I would relish the opportunity to be your ghost and bring your story to life!

Bus Ticket Memories

BUS TICKET MEMORIES Memories are fickle things; we want to hold onto them tightly and yet we forget so easily. Then all of a sudden out of the blue, a scent, taste, tune, or picture will trigger a memory and you don’t have to search anymore, it’s there, all there…. My father was a very arty and charismatic man. He was working on his modelling and acting career and this took him all over the world doing catalogue work and some acting gigs. He had trained in fine arts and loved painting and writing. My father and mother got divorced when I was very young. Dad left for the UK to pursue his...

Out

The bright light pierces my skull like a bullet. I open my eyes. Where the fuck am I? Terror floods my body, my throat constricts, my heart feels like it is going to burst out of my chest. Fear and confusion grip me. I can’t move, my mouth is dry and tastes like metal. I search for memory. Who am I? Slowly I gather my thoughts. My name is Beth. I know who I am! I live in Yampa, Colorado, but how did I get here? My mind starts to clear. It’s coming back to me now; we were at Penny's Diner. Rick my boyfriend, and I argued. I can’t recall what it was about. Think dammit! I can’t move; all ...
