Biography
Hi all, my name is Kristi and I have been writing since I was about 10 years old. Although horses have always been the main passion in my life, writing has been a close second. I published my first book when I was 20 as I needed to fill the time after breaking some vertebrae! Over the next few years, I turned that first book into a trilogy and had three books published by the age of 26. I have been fortunate to travel and live in a variety of different climates and regions in my adult life.
In recent years I have traveled through five provinces and twenty-six states! To keep my sanity on some of those 5000-mile self-driven travels, I wrote about the daily adventures when had parked each night! Having spent most of my adult life living in a tourist city surrounded by desert, mountains, and lakes, it has been a major adjustment moving to a far more tropical place where my town has one stoplight in amongst the surrounding jungle. Maintaining my blog has allowed me to share in the chaos of all my travels, life as a mom, life as a competitive horseback rider, and general farm life. This has also allowed me to share some of my photography, another hobby of mine. Although I have always loved writing, and have various personal projects completed and still in the works, I am finally at a stage in life where I have real time to sit and write as I've always wanted.
Whether it is about nature and pets, home life and relationships, or working in a wide variety of industries, I am well versed in the real world. My most recent personal projects however have fallen into the fiction category as I enjoy creative writing just as much! My bookshelf contains a wide range of horse-related books, books about baking, as well as many works by authors such as Nora Roberts and William Shakespeare. I've always enjoyed learning so there are many how-to books sitting there as well.
After graduating high school six months early, I took a few years off to move to a new province and start a family. When my son was young, I went back to school for Early Childhood Education and graduated with a 4.33 GPA. In the following years I completed courses in Reiki healing, Shamanism, Photography, and Accounting. Not to mention the dozens and dozens of online horse courses I have taken to increase my knowledge. I also received certification as a Certified Horsemanship Association instructor and am now working through a program geared towards certifying me as a Barefoot Hoof Practitioner. My brain is always going top speed and I have a thirst for knowledge.
While I always have a lot on the go, I have developed a system for keeping myself on track and keeping deadlines. This comes from years of juggling motherhood with employment and ongoing coursework. I am excited to work on new projects and bring my unique perspectives to the table!

Farm hand next door
As the sun beat down on her, Bryann could feel the sweat dripping down her back, inching its way between her shoulder blades. Wiping the sweat off her forehead with the back of her hand, Bryann turned to check on Leigh’s progress. There wasn’t a day that went by that she didn’t treasure her son. At seven, he was now her right hand man. Currently, as Bryann was unrolling and stapling the barbwire, Leigh was carrying a box of staples in one hand and two bottles of water tucked under the other arm. “Oh my son, how did I get so lucky as to have you?” she asked, gladly accepting both the stapl...
