Biography
Hi, I'm Annie-Lela. I've loved writing since I was a child. Brought up in three different countries by the age of 15, I often felt like the oddball, always questioning my roots and who I was. Naturally, I turned to writing to cope with some of the harsh realities of life. Maybe because I had no one else to talk to, I could always turn to paper and for this reason, I excel at portraying emotions in my work.
It was long after I moved to Finland when I came across old stories of mine that I had written back in England. A light lit up in me and I felt obliged to write about my new found struggles in unemployment on LinkedIn. The more I wrote, the better I felt but more than that, I found I out was actually helping people in similar situations who were too afraid to speak up.
My writings went far and after many articles and one HubSpot course, I got a job as a Content Manager at a public speakers bureau. It must have been my first week on the job when this one speaker walked down talking about polar bears climbing trees and I thought to myself, what? There was a story there and I HAD to know.
Roll on a few weeks and I found that every speaker had a very, very unique reason for ever starting. There was a spark, one particular moment that made that individual decide to speak up and I just had to write their stories. It came so naturally to me. Up until that job I had never considered pursuing a career in writing. But I found out I was pretty good, I had readers and most importantly, I did these speakers stories justice- and that's what mattered.
After that contract, I did a brief stint at a space start-up, and although it wasn't exactly my cup of tea, I did one thing I'm very proud of- I wrote their story for the UK space magazine ROOM. See, I believe that a good writer can write about just about anything and I was determined to prove it. As far as I can see, the story was a success and brought that company some much needed publicity.
I love writing in general. It gives me purpose. So when they ask me, what niche do I want to write. I don't mind. I can make myself interested in just about anything because I love a challenge. As a test piece for Urban Writers I had to write a biography on Marie Antoinette and I didn't know much about her but I put my heart and soul into it (even though I had a family tragedy happen at the same time) and got a 8,5/10 so that says something about me right?
Here's what I have written and please feel free to check out my website too (at the end of this):
- Speaker stories (a series of articles written about public speakers in Europe and how they began)
- SEO article on the history of public speaking
- Marketing articles on the CEO/company called Koti Apartments
- Several growth marketing articles
- A script for a corporate video
- A series of blogs
- Children's stories
So, as you can see my writing varies. I'm a very good researcher and I think my key selling point would be, I'm friendly, awesome to work with (if I don't say so myself, haha), have a quick turn around rate and like I've always said about myself, "I transform peoples words into enchanting stories, always finding the deeper meaning of their raison d’être (reason to be)."
I truly hope, you'll choose me to write your next masterpiece.
Previous experience, degrees, and qualifications
I have a Bachelor's in International Business, where I majored in Marketing, My thesis was on the Storytelling Elements in the Super Bowl Advertisements of 2016. Since then I've written various articles ranging from research articles to individuals and company stories. I worked for several years as a Personal Assistant, where I traveled around the globe. I've been to over 30 different countries which greatly expanded my cultural knowledge. Since then, I worked for a public speakers bureau and space company. I am currently working as an Executive Assistant at the oldest company in Finland- Fiskars. In my spare time, I love to write.
Interests and hobbies
I love stories so naturally my hobbies evolve primarily around stories - reading books and watching series. I also enjoy shopping and being outside as well as spending time with family and our farm animals.
How I'd describe my personality in two sentences
A passionate individual who deep dives into her work. Someone who is resilient, determined and a go-getter.
How I'd describe my approach to my work
I live by the saying, "blood, sweat and tears" because I put my soul into my work. I give it my all. The last book I wrote, I did it in two weeks just because I wanted to see what I was capable of. It was my proudest achievement. The customer was incredibly happy as I turned her vision into a reality. I communicate with all my clients and provide them with regular updates. I make any changes the customers wants. At the end of the day, my main goal is to make the customer happy.
Why should you choose me for your project
I will do everything in my power to turn your visions into a reality. I've always praised myself on going above and beyond for my clients and I don't disappoint. I am quick and efficient. I can learn a new topic in days which allows for a quick turnover rate. I also enjoy a challenge, so even if I may never have written on the topic before, being tasked with something new is a highly motivational factor for myself.

Seeing is Not Believing
When one looks at Robson Lindberg, you would have no idea he suffered from traumatic brain injury. You wouldn’t know, that still, to this day, he suffers from four different kinds of headaches, extreme tiredness, constant pain in his lower extremities or that his right side is weaker than his left. That goes to show how deceiving looks really are and furthermore, why every person deserves the basic human right- to have their story heard. I stress to my readers, do not judge a book by its cover, for if anything, Robson is proof of just that. “I shouldn’t be here,” that’s how he started bu...
Segway- The Convenience that Became Inconvenient
It was dubbed “the next big thing after Apple Macintosh.” The Segway was a two-wheel form of private transportation. It was invented by Dean Kamen and first shown to the public in 2001. It was intended to revolutionize how people traveled around cities. Instead of driving or taking various forms of public transport, one could now stand straight on a Segway, which with its computer board, could balance itself. The driver would hold onto the handlebars and controlled it by leaning either forwards or backwards. The projections were that they would be selling 10,000 units per week, totaling...
Biography of Marie Antoinette
Marie Antoinette is one of the most well-known names today. She is known for being married to the king of France, for throwing lavish parties, spending excessively on clothes and jewelry, and mostly for neglecting the people of France, which ultimately led to her head being chopped off. But are all the rumors true? And did anyone bother to ask themselves why Marie Antoinette failed so miserably as a queen (if she failed at all)? With all the knowledge we have today in psychology and behavioral sciences, isn’t it about time someone retold her story through a modern perspective? Wasn’t ...

The Purple Dress
Once upon a time there was a girl who, just like many other girls, had a wonderful grandmother... Not only was she a wonderful grandmother but she was so loving and had so much light in her that she brought out the light in everyone else around her as well. The child's parents would ship her off to her grandparents' country once a year, usually during her summer break. Her grandmother loved her so much that on grocery store visits, she'd let the girl fill her miniature cart full of cookies and candy, even though it was a bit excessive at times. At home she'd let her granddaughter sleep ...
A Picture Speaks A Thousand Words
A picture speaks a thousand words. One picture, it seems was the defining moment in Pata Dagerman’s career. It made the difference between what may have remained as only one man’s private exploration as a hobby, and a budding career as a highly successful public speaker. I had heard of Pata when I first began working at MySpeaker, inside the MySpeaker Rhetorich Community. ”One of their best speakers,” they said and although I remain eager to meet every speaker who passes through our doors, I patiently wait at the back of our office. One day, Pata (real name Patrick) doodled his way down ...
A Brush with Mortality that Turned Back the Clocks
You never know how speaker’s are made these days. That’s the thought that ran through my head when Terrence Mauri told me his story and how the turning point in his life and career, was waking up under a car, with a tyre burning on his leg. For most people a brush with mortality might cause them to become more cautious at the fragility of life. However, for Terence Mauri, he felt, now more than ever, the need to feel alive and to encourage others to feel alive through the power of words. He calls the accident, as having encountered the “ultimate disruption,” – his own mortality. This is ...
The Lady who Became a Ray of Sunshine
Holding her hands to the sides of her head, she says, “I could go oh my god and stress about the situation or”, moving her hands back down beside her, she says, “I could just accept the present moment and that there is nothing I can do to change the situation.” It was Nanna Bhose’s words which rang in my head as I finally accepted defeat against the wind and rain. I put the umbrella I had been fighting with down and just calmly walked through the storm, “Fine, I accept the situation as is.” Only mere hours before, I had arrived to work, curls in my hair gone, now looking like a wet mop ...
How the Tides Turned from Social Exclusion to a Company set on Social inclusion
You know why this story is so hard to write? Because stories like this shouldn’t be written. Stories like this shouldn’t exist. Stories like the one you’re about to read, should only ever exist in our worst nightmares. Unfortunately, in the world we live in, that isn’t our reality but it should be, and I hope this will be one of the few times I have to write about the extent of the human capability for inflicting pain. Well, where do we start? At the beginning of course. Many years ago, a newborn was left on the streets of Bangalore. A newborn, yes you read right. For what reasons, we’ll...

Annie has helped with the processes of telling my life story. She has made it easy. Being a C-PTSD survivor usually it's hard to communicate the trauma's. I've come forth to share my story to help others. Annie's empathy and due diligence made the process of memory recall safe and a dream of comfortability for my mental health. I would recommend her first in a heartbeat.
