Biography

"The words. Why did they have to exist? Without them, there wouldn't be any of this." — Markus Zusak

My name is Alena, and I have always had a passion for putting the magic of creativity and imagination into words.

During my middle and high school days, my time was mostly spent in the corner of the chilly library, a book under my nose. But of course, my interest in writing didn't stop in high school. In college, I decided that writing was what I wanted to do in the long run, so I went on and tried to learn as much as I could about it. I joined writing organizations and took up fiction and nonfiction writing classes to help me hone my skills. Every course I took only intrigued me more. Eventually, I finished college with a degree in English and a passion for writing that was burning more fervently than before.

Writing has allowed me to just let my mind wander and delve into any world I wanted to. Writing is an avenue for exploration and experimentation. The genres I have immersed myself in are:
- Drama
- Contemporary Romance
- Fantasy
- Romance
- Children's Literature

Non-Fiction, Self Help

The night went by rather quickly. Tonyo stood outside the glass pane, just staring at his mother, to whom he greatly owed his life. The longer time passed, the more agonized she became. Just the sight of his suffering mother was a stab to the heart, a shake to ...

In Retrospect

Hometowns oddly have distinct aromas which, from one whiff, could quickly remind you of the good and maybe even the bad memories you’ve had there. The strong fragrance of freshly cut grass and torn leaves could remind someone how they mostly spent time playing with their neighbors outdoors or on grassy fields. The faint smell of soil and mud could probably have someone reminisce how they’d always go out of the house and play tag in the rain, their feet getting sopped from splashing the puddles. Mine presented the odor of fresh air that I can’t help but think waltzed their way from the fores...
